Look for pools of reflection if there's no exp bonus prior to Grift?

is there a way to continue looking for a pool of reflection if non are found during a the nephalem rift? Then once found go grift?

this guy somehow did it but I'm not sure what piece of code to change and it seems to only work with an old version of Trinity
