Log in issue possible cause? Mod Response Requested

Hey Mods,

It has been a good 10 hours and there are still many people having trouble logging on.
Most of us have are becoming frustrated; because all we see are "solutions that haven't worked" or the link on "how to attach our logs."
Can we have a post detailing some sort of Update on the Situation?

P.S. Could this issue only be affecting the people that modified their host files? I know I have removed the edits and restarted, but could that have modified something about how my account is trying to logon?
 
Interesting fact: My key on my wives comp logs in fine. Could there be something that isn't getting uninstalled correctly?

It has been his response to everything all morning. I've got the exact same issue...

was working fine till yesterday and now this is all i get. And yes, I fixed the hosts file.
 
no log file as attachment uploaded
