Lifetimers getting free paid plugins?

Its like buying a vanilla wow and almost demand to get all the expansions for free :S

The reason you dont understand why I want to pay for this is the reason we have this "discussion"

The paid plugin system is being designed to allow 3rd party developers a way to be compensated for their work. Some paid plugins will be released by the HB team (which I assume some will be free for lifetime members) but others will be released by 3rd party developers.

Most 3rd party developers will not receive any "cut" of the money that you paid for HB Lifetime. Therefore, they will have the option of making their plugins paid so they can collect money for their work. If you don't want to pay for it, you will have to deal without the plugin. It will be the developer's choice to release plugins for free, or to make them paid.

Also, the HB team is probably still working on the business model to support all this so please don't bitch and moan about it until you see an official announcement.

Ah ok. I was under the impression that all paid plugins where going to be made by the HB team. Not 3rd party dev's.

There will be both from my understanding.

as paid plugins are concerned. as lifetime users there will be some that will be free. the gatherbuddy plugin will be one of these plugins, along with a bunch of others. but if someone else wants to write a plugin and sell it, they will be able to. the paid plugin system is a way for our community developers to make a little money on the code they work hard to write, so they dont have to go around like bums begging for donations. they can just as easly make a free version for the community and if you like it pay the $1 or $2 to get a version with more features and support the developer. its not about bossland making more money or charging users more for the bot, is about letting some of the community developers write code, and get paid for it.
