I use chucks plugin. Control my 60 manually and have 3 level 1's follow me around.

I don't like to even spend 3-6 hours playing the game to have a char follow around in normal-MP10. I run slightly modified versions of champ hunting profiles along with giles equipper and a full set of 1-60 eq, broken down into a level 5 set, level 15 set, level 35 set, and a few pieces at around level 50. New weapons come at 5, 15, 25, 35, and 45 (reduced level 63 weapon). Here's the breakdown of what I do:

use main to get new char normal butcher kill, azmodan kill, and diablo kill, this gives WP for 1-9.3 and 3-7.3, and raises bot to level 5 from quest exp
(5-15) normal act 1 champ profile, cut down to just leoric's manor and highlands
(15-25) normal act 3 champ profile
use main to get new char nightmare kills on butcher, azmodan, diablo
(25-35) nightmare act 1 champ profile
(35-50) nightmare act 3 champ profile
use main to get new char hell butcher kill
(50-60) hell act 1 champ profile
use main to get new char hell diablo kill, inferno azmodan kill, and equipment

somewhere in there before 60 you should pick up your follower, they don't help much, but if you wait til 60 they'll start at 59

usually takes me a little under 20 hours to hit 60, with very little interaction on my part.
