Level one reported me now banned

I'm pretty sure that if enough reports came in that Bliz could look up the name to determine who had created the toon, even if it was just for 5 mins... BUT, what No1K and others have been saying is that it is rather difficult to report them period... cause what they do is logon, queue up their spam message for a bunch of players that are online, then quickly logoff... figuring that they can logoff before you can report them. When I used to report manually, about 90% of the time they would be offline before I reported them... BUT, I use BadBoy now - which automagically reports spam message bots with 100% success cause it's instant.

PS. Op, hope you get your account back...

And, I hope this guy gets banned too, if I was blizz GM, I would check the chars lvl that the page was made from and then what account it belongs to, if they are smart they do that and get that mofo banned too by observing logs. Im sure they have someway to see if char x has spent numbers of hours on one zone just picking up herbs or something, or at least I would hope so (or actually not to keep me safe botting, lol)

Guy who reported you saw you BY CHANCE in twilight highlands.
Makes a level 1 character with a stupid name. Whispers something stupid to you "OMG BOT REPORTED Lawlz" logs off.
that whole thing takes less then 30 seconds wtf? allot of work? Maybe if you have one arm 1 finger and down syndrome that task is just completely undoable.
 
wel i have not talking to anyone ingame i just do self dungeons grinding my chars up my own guild and im not whispering anyone and no one can whisper me and im stil good im not that nerfous of other botters i just do my things and dont let me scare away of them.. because they do the same what you do
 
He might very well be a fellow botter who saw competition and therefore reported you.
 
Strange, it happened to me once before even botting, I was advertising my own guild (you know, x/7H, blahblahblah we need blah blah website), a player whispered me "Reported." just after the n-ous message, I replied "WTF" as soon as possible, but I was been ignored (just like 2 seconds after). I think it was an addon though. If a lot of people had that addon, I think I'd have been suspended too like you. You can always ask for a restore, I think blizzard implemented a system for auto-banning if people get too many reports.
 
99% of the time if you report a gold seller for spamming, they don't get banned. You just have some ignore placed on them either by a GM or automatically by the system.

Just the other day I reported a Goldseller for spamming, next thing all is quiet. I figure they got banned. However I logged onto another toon and you wouldn't believe it, the same Seller was still spamming Trade Chat. So I immediately logged out and back onto the Reporting toon and Trade Chat is silent, no spamming. Logged back into other toon again and the Seller was still spamming.

So it's like they have been Ignored by the reporting Toon without actually Ignoring them. So I figure a GM did it or it's Automated by the Spam Report.

Nothing a GM did... Reporting someone also puts them on your Ignore list... so you don't have to listen to them anymore. No need to /Report and then /Ignore. The reason you still 'heard' them on your other toon is that Ignore lists are toon specific...

I report spammers too... but most of the time it's automated by using BadBoy ;-)
