Legitimate leveling 1-60 Quick Guide

Hello, this is my method of legit leveling. It's very fast provided you follow each rule correctly and always upgrade your weapon every 2-4 levels.

Movement speed is capped at 25% you can also get 25% More Experience the more you can afford of these two primary stats will increase your leveling speed far more than anything else.

  1. SELL EVERY BLUE / Yellow you find no salvage untill you reach inferno. = This is the gold income that will buy you your weapon upgrades every 2-4 levels.
  2. Level 1 - If you have gold buy your self a 200g weapon Else play untill you reach 200g shouldn't take long as soon as you hit 200g buy weapon off AH.
  3. 2-10 Only run straight to the key quests. Progress onto Skeleton King. You should be able to complete act 1 before lvl 10.
  4. 10 - Reach checkpoint - Shop auction house try to buy 2 weapons 1 level 10 weapon and 1 level 15 weapon. Make sure they have the Highest Ruby Gem you can find for under 5k gold.
  5. Now buy a Helm for level 15 with socket with Highest ruby you can find for 25k or less The helm should give you 19% More experience this is KEY. Also do yourself a favor and buy move speed boots.
  6. 11-30 = Finish normal every 5 levels make sure you upgrade your weapon. Every Time you go up a act you should be buying proper upgrades from merchants in that act. Weapon and helm is pretty much only thing you need to worry bout from Auction House.
  7. 30-50 Nightmare progression should go fairly quick. SAVE AS MUCH GOLD AS YOU CAN you will need it shortly. 200k GOLD is IDEAL
  8. IMPORTANT ***47-50 **** This is where most people go wrong. Stop playing Search Auction house for new weapon. Set min level to 60 on auction house Set filter to "Reduced Level Requirement by 10 to 13) You are looking for a weapon that you can wear at level 47-50 that is a end game weapon with over 400+dps and either a socket or your primary stat.
  9. Now that you have your weapon. Shop for armor with all resist try to get bare minimum of 100 resist all + primary stat + vit if possible 2 outta 3 is acceptable.no piece of armor should cost more than 5k gold. Goal is to have spent least ammount of gold untill you reach 60. While still maintaing an effective leveling gear upkeep.
  10. 50-60 Hell Progression. If you beat Hell before 60 you can farm act 3 azmo trash mobs or Act 4 Iskatu . Should be only 3 levels to grind.

You can get to inferno in a day. If you know where to run 90% of the time. Example Catheral levels 4 80% of the time royal crypts is always to the left. 10% to the right 10% to bottom. So therefore I always check left first then to top middle then middle right then bottom right. If you haven't found it it should be obvious theres only 1 spot left to check. This alone could save you 30 minutes of running act every quest.

Inferno Gear requirements - Armor , Vitality , All Resists matters as much as your damage now. (Move speed is always a plus.) Goals 20-40k HP | Armor 2-4.5k | All resist 200-500 | DPS - 20k-50k | Life on Hit 500+ or Life Regen 300+ | As for your skills most prefer 3-4 Defense spells. These are buffs or heals or crowd control type skills. Then focus on Single Target spell and an effecient AoE spell.

I hope this helps some new players.
I know a lot of new players following this have reached inferno in less then 20 hours played.
Feel free to post other tips as well as running directions for particular areas to make faster progression times.

Things this guide will force you to accomplish. You will have been to almost every key spot in the game and know where potential farming spots are.
UNLIKE people who payed for power leveling. You will have every waypoint and can pick anywhere to farm.

If you are a broke new player. Farming MF/GF gear can be purchased from Act 3 Town in Hell for cheap. Just keep remaking games and check vendor for "Glittering"(Gold Find) or "Ransacking"(Magic Find) blues.
I believe highest percent you can buy from merchant is 12% for armor and shields. Rings 12% and Amulets can go as high as 25%.

Now that you know what percentages the shops sell you know what will obviously be cheap as hell on the auction house.
Budget mf and gf for 19% or lower should be 100k or less gold.
Hope you know what you should be paying now.

Here is a tip for melee characters.

Buy two weapons and put a Topaz in them for thorns damage once you hit 15. I have two gems for 600 each so a combined 1200 thorns.... mobs pay the price for hitting me.

Too late for my current toon, but you put some interesting ideas into my head, thank you for that.

I want this on a GO button in DB.
I am sure it will happen one day.

or you can do what I do and pay someone 9 mil to get the leveling done in 8 hours.

Well thought out and in great detail...step by step...well done Sinal1ty!

Tony ...Hawker ....we need this to be made into a sticky, too great of work here to let is disappear in the list of posts!

Could we have this made a sticky in the Guide Forums?

I never would have thought of the lower level requirement weapon. This alone is just genius, thanks for the guide.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm not going to argue the whole pay for power leveling thing the title of this thread specifically states " LEGIT " leveling. Lets keep this thread about LEGIT Tips only. I don't wish to use a bugged quest power leveling trick and receive the ban hammer before I have even farmed 50 mil gold on said account. I understand some would rather risk speed for safety. You have to look at it this way. If players actually play through the game that means more Farming Spots will be found. This in turn means a stronger community with more diverse farming methods.

Must be doing something way wrong, 31 hrs in, level 36 and only act 1 nightmare :( Just questing and using the bot to kill stuff.

So I bought a crossbow that was level 46 with reduced required level by 6, so I should be able to equip this crossbow at level 40, which I am currently level 43, but it still has the lock icon and says I don't meet the requirements to equip it... Broken or am I understanding that reduced level modifier wrong?

Fantastic tip about the level requirement reduction for the weapons, except my server nothing under $1mil :( Gold I don't have, dang.

The level that is stated on the weapon is the level with the reduced requirements already taken off. So it is infact a level 46 required weapon making it actually a LEVEL 52 weapon originally. If you had put level 60 in the first level required spot on the auction house page you wouldn't have this problem.
