LCP and safety of botting

I recently lost my main account after botting for 4 days on ~8 hours per day. I read about LCP a few days after the 4th day and just had a feeling.. I ended up getting banned and I can only assume it's because of this LCP I've been hearing so much about.

My understanding is that LCP is a batch or automated ban based on a player doing the exact same thing multiple times. I've been following fpsware's latest project keenly as it would (if I understand LCP correctly) effectively negate the auto ban.

So my question is about the safety of botting right now. I have a spare account that I wish to get to 90 and farm to support a raiding guild but I just don't feel safe with it currently. What are you currently botting and do you feel safe doing so?
 
and you were farming Ghost Iron Ore in Jade Forest/Valley of the Four Winds?
 
I used different scripts on each day as I was comparing them all. I'm not here to debate whether what I did was wrong, as I can happily tell you I know I am a reckless botter and I only have myself to blame.

The point of this post is to see HOW others bot and if they feel safe doing so.

Edit:

I feel that people are going to assume that I am here to mooch ideas of people. That is not my intention. I am trying to validate my feelings on botting after being recently banned by comparing how others bot to how I chose to bot.
 
using different scripts doesn't matter, were you farming Ghost Iron Ore?
 
I have been farming with 3-4 characters for about 4 weeks now using Farmer Joe. As yet - touch wood - I have not been banned. I'm farming anywhere from 4-8 hours per day on each character.

EDIT: I started Farmer Joe because of the recent loss of all my farming accounts when using GatherBuddy.

EDIT: Not trying to get off topic, but one of the reasons I've not yet released Farmer Joe, or even entered closed beta testing, is because I'm actively trying to get my farming accounts banned. I'm trying to push them as hard as possible and see if it triggers LCP detection. How will I know its the result of LCP detection? I guess I won't. But, had I been using GB2 this heavily with my farming characters I feel I would have been banned by now. Of cause, this is only my personal opinion and a gut feeling. I could be completely wrong and just wasting my time.

EDIT (last one I promise): One of my characters has been farming the shit out of The Jade Forest for Ghost Iron Ore and Green Tea Leaf for ~3 weeks now. I've auctioned as many stacks as I feel is safe (not too many) and the rest go to the guild bank for various kinds of disposal by professions.

You are obviously not pushing anything.4-8 hours a day is nothing.You can farm with GB2 from 18.00 to 6.00 EU very easily if your bot is well behaved.
I would like to see 72 hours farming jade forest non-stop. My record is 36 hours without even a scratch
 
LCP is a myth In my opinion. All the various method to defeat LCP didn't stop bans from coming. And I'm a direct witness
 
i create a new random profile every tuesday from roboto's site. i only farm jade forest, only ghost iron, and only after doing 5 hours of other stuff. i split my time between farming other ore, usually mithril, thorium and ghost iron. they all sell around the same price on my server. i spend the first half of the day doing klaxxi dailies, cloud serpent exalted already through dailies, angler dailies and that dang farming.

am i safe? hell no. im still botting. everything i do in-game is automated. do i feel safe, hell no. am i leveling backup accounts, hell yes.
 
im in 2 minds about it. while they are definately hitting a lot of farmers i cant help but still think its mostly player reports.

i lost 1 of my farming accts about 6 weeks ago, if not more using a single (private) profile that wasnt too big or anything. i was running it around 12 - 14 hours a day with break days every now and then. farming in not a very busy area. went well for about 2 weeks then got banned (this was before using randomisation in GB2).

now after that acct got banned my 2nd farmer had just hit 90, so i started farming the exact same profile on new char... lowered the hours to about 8 - 12... one thing i was sure to not to do was to run it during peak play time. well following on from there, ive been using the same char for the last 6 weeks with no ban. on the same private profile still farming 10+ hours usually. by all reports, i should have triggered something that would of had me banned.. but i havent. so i really cant decide on what i think about LCP but i dont believe its the only reason people are getting banned.

what fpsware has been doing has been admirable and have been following it closely cause it seems hes getting some bloody positive results (must be cause hes a fellow kiwi :P) and look forward to a release.
 
If you farm 1000 ore a day. Can anyone think that's normal? If you do that 7 days a week? Is that more or less normal?
