Hi all I am new to this and never had to update db is there a forum, a step by step or am I overthinking it thanks

Unistall previous version, install new one, restart your computer, and start it

You are over thinking it, and the same is Alfonse1er.
Start DB, if there are any new updates DB will tell you to update, press the update button and start playing after it have updated it self. - No reason to uninstall anything, restart computer or check forum all the time.
Simply just try every 2 hour and start DB to see if it says there are a new update.

They will post in the sticky section in this forum status updates for new versions and the new version itself. It is usually recommended that you do a fresh install. Just make a new folder and extract the new version into there. Replace any plugins if there are newer versions than what comes packaged with DB. You can also copy your settings from your outdated version if you don't want to go through the setup again.
