When they ban the mac-address does this mean I can't ever log into wow from that mac-address ever again?

As far as i know they only wipe the mac adress once but dont watch it after that.

Just as easy to change/spoof your MAC address as it is to change your IP address. If you aren't behind a router, which isn't too common these days, changing the MAC address will also grab a new IP from your ISP. You can also change the MAC address on all modern routers these days and change your IP from your ISP too. I use to do this all the time to try to get an IP address I liked, that sounded cool and was easy to remember, lol.

Your MAC address doesn't actually get sent out "over the net", it's just used in networking (so, between your computers and router). It's far more likely Blizzard would just look at your local machine's MAC address, from WoW/Warden, and use that to identify a "unique" machine.

You could use Macshift, and have it run on startup, to give you a new mac address each time.

im confused cause you said mac address twice.

when i type IPCONFIG /ALL , i get a XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX value. Will this program change that value?

If i change the macaddress wouldnt that send a signal to my router, that it needs a new IP address 168.1.1.XXX.

Up to this stage only WARDEN can do anything to ban my system.

Once the connection leaves my router and goes into the INTERNET where your IP is XX.XXX.XX.XX and not 168.XXXX, then blizzard can only IP ban, which in this case you now need a VPN connection for your local machine, you dont need it for your router.

You'll notice that if you try to vpn from california then to vpn to newyork connection, when you log on blizz will block your account and have to do 'recovery'.

Anyhow, i currently VPN, but i think my laptop is blacklisted somehow maybe macadress. Is this what everyone uses to change macaddress?

Every network adapter - that is, a LAN port, wireless adapter, router, even iPhone, etc - has a MAC address (it's like a serial number). That "macshift" program will change the MAC address, on your computer, of the network adapter you specify (you might only have 1). This might affect the LAN IP your router gives you (168.1.1.xxx), and IF blizzard look at your computer's MAC address (they probably don't) then this will help.

My router has the option for me to change it's MAC address, but I don't think most do - so you probably wont be able to change this. Either way, this doesn't go out on the internet, so it's highly unlikely Blizzard even know what it is, or are blacklisting it.

What makes you think you're blacklisted, and not just that your account(s) are banned?

EDIT: ah okay, just saw your reply to my thread about how Blizzard can ban you - yeah, I guess if they're looking at the IP they could see multiple accounts using the same one, that was used for botting. Where I live I get a new IP every 24 hours (and I can easily switch between different service providers)... which means someone here might bot, then I get the IP they were using a few days later, and Blizzard bans me? I'd definitely complain about that!

Well, why not see what your IP (<--Link) is then unplug modem for a few minutes then try again and see if it changed.

Ok I now have a NEW macAddress and changed my VPN IP , lets see blizzard try to ban my bots now
