So I just came back, I havent really played since the big ban wave in 2015. Is this bot still relatively safe, as far as bots go? And i notice there hasn't been a ban report for a few weeks, does that normally happen?

i am botting for pretty long time... and when i bot, i bot 24/7 over months... i have about 5 D3 Accounts... not a single one got banned so far...

i avoid....

...to get in the leaderboards to seasonends...
...to have any strangers in FL i dont know in RL.
...to play in groups with bot accounts... when i do. i block all recent players, so i dont show up in their recent player list.

well i think thats most important during boting!!

I just posted a reply related to this here:
https://www.thebuddyforum.com/demonbuddy-forum/289075-24-7-botting-club.html

This is the content of that reply:

i've botted 24/7 since vanilla
a lot of tin foil hats on in here
blizzard gives 0 fucks about this shit game

edit: and i was on leaderboards when i botted hardcore

My tinfoil hat is off until a couple months before Necromancer expansion drops. I am going to be really careful about what I do leading up to that. My only ban came when RoS dropped.

my little advice, do not run db 24/7. If you do that you will get banned soon or later.
I got banned couple of months ago. No leaderboard both season and non season, always play below 75 gr, play solo or group (with my 2 other accounts), no friend list, etc but still got banned. So...it is your choice to push hard and run db 24/7, but be prepare...nothing is safe.
Agreed that nothing is truly safe. If you use a bot, you could get banned. Simple as that, there is no sure way to avoid that fact. Whether you play it safe or are completely obvious we do not know exactly how or why bans are assessed.

I botted 1 account 24/7 for 2 months before RoS dropped. Banned.

I have botted 24/7 for months on end using 4 accounts on the same IP. No bans.

I have also run multiple accounts solo for months on end 24/7. No bans.

The past few seasons I have leveled 1 account by hand, powerleveled my other accounts using it. Bot 24/7 for 2 months. Complete the stash tab. Then focus on testing. No bans.

However, there are definitely people who have run for a handful of hours per day, very conservatively, and have been banned. Some of them also use other third party programs which could be part of the reason.

*Do not listen to people who says "I never got banned i run db 24/7, if u are not on leaderboard, you will be fine" BULL CRAP. Read the ban section and you decide.

I think this is because many people who have made leaderboards have been banned... But not all of them. At the same time, so many people have been banned that were never on the leaderboard.

While that would seem to point to evidence that leaderboards don't make a difference... It's not hard to conceptualize that Blizzard might not care about the lower 80% of users, but might pay more attention to the top 500 players in each class and group. Perhaps it also includes the top 10000 players in time played over a given period. We don't know.

What I can confirm is this:
  • If you are worried about losing your account, don't bot. You are never 100% safe.
  • No one has ever proven that running 24/7 causes bans. While you could argue a contributing factor, there is simply no proof that it's an exact cause.
  • Diablo 3 is simply not enjoyable without botting. I wouldn't play this game without my bots.

Since you have multiple bot accounts Please do this test for yourself.

Ban one of your accounts that is on your recent players list and then go look on that banned account and see if you can see the one that banned you, in the recent players list.

LOL, yes you can ,you are still in their recent players list.

By blocking another player all you do is make it possible for YOU to not see them. They do still see you.

Blizz rule. If you play with another player they are in the recent players list for 30 days.

I personally haven't had any hiccups botting for long lengths of time on end, and have used it on and off for a while.

I gain nothing but hopefully helping someone not get banned. :)

I found this out myself with similar thoughts as you. I have contacted Blizzard support if they could refresh an account and remove the "recent players list" and the answer is NO they can't.

If you have to go into a public game it will be 30 days before they are removed.

Good luck and have fun.

Did you by chance test pairing "clean" accounts with botting accounts? Is there any record of clean accounts getting banned for playing with bots? Did a search here and on ROSbots forums but couldn't find anything...
