hey all

after seeing the insane money making people achieved with FB, I have been doing some reading and decided to invest some gold into tears, very cheap atm and with crafting on the up feel like the price may rise, does anyone have an opinion to add here?

only invested about 10mil btw or less i think, was hard to see exact amount as had to purchase in clumps due to stash issues haha. but thinking of getting more not sure, just want to see what some other people think :)

I have around 1.5m tears stashed. I expect prices to raise a lot in 1.04. If it works, yay! if not, w/e this game has been hard to make money off of the past month. I went from approx. 2-4k payouts monthly until this past month. gold sales are way down and RMAH is so flooded that items take forever to sell, time to send all my bots back to WoW and get ready for MoP.

hehe yeah... oh well good to see its not just me with this idea :)

imagine if they go up to a few k each, would be very nice:)

Hate to rain on your parade, but I think this is a bad idea.

"Factor of four" in 1.0.4 Blog Post - Forums - Diablo III

Drop rates of ilvls that salvage into tears is going to go up quite a bit. I really don't see anyone seriously crafting non-legionaries after the new patch; which means there will even more of a surplus then now. From everything I have seen they arn't reworking any crafting cost or creating a new "tears" sink.

Bottom line is I think crafting will switch more towards legendarys but their will be roughly the same amount of crafting activity. Meanwhile, drop rates are more then doubling for tears.

....And tears are probably a lot more worthless then you think for two reasons. 1) I've seen a few of these post and am sure there is some of the 1.0.4 patch hype included in the price 2) A lot of people (like me) just vendor tears vice selling them at the AH. If the price went up, I would stop salvaging them and take the few seconds to put them on the AH, which would bring the price back down. There are a lot more of them dropping then you think, the price isn't moving unless a MAJOR tear sink is introduced.

Suggestion- Sell them while there still overvalued and hyped up.

wow thats very interesting and makes alot of sense actually, thx for the advice!!

anyone else got any opionions?

tears wont go up coz only a few is required to craft but they are just as common as exquisites. i never run out of tears when i craft, brimstones will go up tho by a big margin coz they are not increasing legendary droprates and the demand for crafted legendaries will be infinitely big since its a very easily attainable upgrade.

Lol and I just sold about 20,000 tears XD. I don't feel that they will go up, as posted above the drop chance of rares is quadrupled in the next patch (as well as all classes DMg buffed and monster hp nerfed) so getting crafting materials like tears will be cake... I have a feeling that the FB are still a safe buy right now because new legendarys will be less likely to be salvaged because they should be much better. This in turn will cause a higher need for FB. Just my observation lol

They might go up a few hundred gold/per, imo because of the "assumed" value in crafting 6prop/5prop Ilvl weapons post 1.04

Will 30K tears even fit in your stash? I have heard people buying large commodities that won't ever go in the stash cause they are actually not all stacked in 100's. So they are stuck there forever

Smart. the fact that the more common blue exquisite essence is nearly 6 times more expensive than the harder to obtain rare iridescent tear just goes to show how unbalanced crafting and commonalities and really the whole d3 economy

hey gardettos, trick is buy them in no more than 15000 at a time, and make sure ur 3 stash pages are emppy, then u can transfer :) but not the AH wont let u buy more than 21000 because thats the most u can fit in ur stash at one time.

but u ucan buy 21000, then move to mules, then buy another 21k etc, or just keep them in youru completed tab until u do decide to sell, then empty ur stash and 21k at a time, so you can easily have millions of them with that method, just cant actually get more than 21k each time
