I foolishly changed my OS (I wouldn't call it an upgrade ;) ) to Windows 8.1 and now DB doesn't work. The "Current" release or the BETA. Nothing has changed besides the OS. I re-installed BD and installed all the C++ runtimes and .NET "stuff" and DB in a new folder and DB starts ok but most of the plugins, including Trinity fail with the following errors... any suggestions besides the obvious "upgrade back to Windows 7" ??? :)

Here's the errors...

Compiler Error: f:\Games\Buddy\DB_Win8\Plugins\EZUpdater\Repository.cs(17,18) : error CS0101: The namespace 'EZUpdater' already contains a definition for 'Repository'
Compiler Error: f:\Games\Buddy\DB_Win8\Plugins\EZUpdater\Settings.cs(11,18) : error CS0101: The namespace 'EZUpdater' already contains a definition for 'EZSettings'

This looks like you've got messed up copy of DemonBuddy.

Try the following in the order they are shown...

Issue 3 - Random Crash
  • Clear your Diablo III MPQ cache, located: ...\Diablo III\Data_D3\PC\MPQs\Cache

  • Try running as administrator (safe) or disabling your "User Access Control" (puts your computer at potential risk)

  • Disable all overlay programs like xFire, Taksi, RadeonPro, DXTory, Airfoil, EVGA Prescision, MSI Afterburner, Mumble, Razer... etc

  • Download and run the Buddy Dependency Installer from: Installation Errors? Try DemonBuddyWizard, reboot and try again.

  • Remove the following programs:
    - Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile
    - Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Extended
    - Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1
    - Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable
    - Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 x86 Redistributable
Now download and run the Buddy Dependency Installer from: Installation Errors? Try DemonBuddyWizard, reboot, run windows updates, reboot and then try again.

  • Try updating Trinity and QuestTools from Trinity & QuestTools Downloads

  • Try one of rrix's profiles.

  • Use the release build of DemonBuddy (if you're on the beta) or Use the beta build of DemonBuddy (if you're on the release build)

  • Try a raw, fresh version of the DemonBuddy with just trinity and try a profile from rrix

  • Try the zip version of DemonBuddy (if using installer version) or try the installer version of DemonBuddy (if using the zip version)

Thanks for the in-depth reply... but if I have to do all that to possibly fix it I'd rather "upgrade" back to Windows 7 ;)

I recently reformatted my comp and installed windows 8.1 and have the latest C++ and .NET stuff installed but kept getting the "max sessions, invalid authentication" error.. Either that or my DB crashes. I can't even get DB to start. Any help?

You do it in order...

Do step 1
Try the bot
Do step 2
Try the bot
Do step 3
Try the bot.... etc

It's in an order that is most likely to help with the easy ones at the start that get rid of tiny problems fast.

Step 1 = 20 seconds
Step 2 = 10 Seconds
Step 3 = 30 Seconds
Step 4 and 5 depending on internet speed 3-6 minutes (we'll say 3 mins if you just ignore step 4 and do step 5 as it's more through)
Step 6 = 30 Seconds
Step 7 = 30 Seconds
Step 8 = 1 Minute
Step 9 = 1 Minute
Step 10 = 1 Minute

That adds up to 8 to 11 minutes, it would take a max of 15 taking into account starting/stopping the bot.

If you're not willing to try that then don't complain that the bot isn't working on Windows 8.

Easy "tiger" I was joking about Windows 7 being and "upgrade" to Windows 8... thus the little "winkie" dude...
