So, I don't get a lot of time to play WoW. And right now, all the time I do get is consumed by dailys and raiding. Therefore, I want to bot my dailys. This is my main account, so I obviously don't want to get banned. (I know, I know. Don't bot on anything you're not willing to lose). But, I've never been banned before. If I do get banned, will I be able to get out of it? By either saying I was hacked, or wasn't botting, or what-have you? At that point, I would obviously not continue to bot again.

Will this work?
 
Its hard to say if it will work or not, usually if your account has never received a warning or whatnot then it's quite likely that you'll get it back but don't take my word for it because it depends on the GM you get. Some will outright ban you and give you the BS response that they will not further discuss the account closure or they may just give you 72 hour temp ban.

Long story short, it really depends and there's no guarantee but I would say that chances of getting banned with no prior warnings on account would be about 70/30 chance of keeping your account.

I raid and do stuff like that too and I also bot during the day while I'm at work but there's no guarantee that one day I might just get banned.

Play it safe and you'll reduce your chances like try to keep an eye on your bot while he quests that kind of thing or even inv a friend to grp.

there is no guarantee that you get unbanned after a ban. some people get unbanned, some not.
there is a guarantee that you risk a ban, if you bot.

you answered yourself already: "(I know, I know. Don't bot on anything you're not willing to lose)"

Yeah, I know I can't get a conclusive answer because it totally depends on whether or not I get reported, what GM I get, etc etc.
Hm. I know I'll be extremely careful, and will only bot for roughly 2 hours per day, but I know there's still that chance. I don't know.
 
Mate this game sucks!
I believe that neither Blizzard employees no longer play this game. Just go and bot HC!
 
I only bot my main its all I have don't be stupid with what you do an you will be fine

All my account is MAIN ACC! They make gold and that is purpose for them. If you have 1 acc just bot smart. If you have 20+ accounts, just bot HC and take every $ from them.

I would never bot on any long-time/veteran account I've had. Mainly because it would be stupid to have played CLEAN for 5-8 years straight...then start botting and get that 5-8 year old acc banned lol.

Luckily for me...I always sell my accounts when I get them up to a certain point...so I've got nothing in WoW I care for losing.

If I get banned if I can be bothered I just rebuy an account and start botting again...but that said I'd never do it on an old veteran account if I still had mine from back in the day.

I'm kinda doing the same!
I've played since vanilla, and I've sold atleast 2 accounts per expansion, and since gilder times casually botting my main acc but had a hard botting secondary account! And every time I 'quit'(you never quit wow; you just take a brek!) I buy a new one, I'm a little more serious with that account and then I sell it.

Like, back in vanilla I wasn't very good, in TBC I focused on PvP, in WOTLK and Cata I was in very good guilds, and yet I end up selling them. I regret it, imagine what I'd have if I would've kept playing my vanilla account!

I had ZG tiger!
Started a new account on mop start, sold my last one aswell.
So far, 12k achievement points!
