Is there a way to revert from map pictures back to older style?

I do not like the new map pokemon pictures and other features because I can no longer mouse over the pokemon on the map and see what pokemon it is. It is nice to be able to quickly move to catch more rare pokemon. Is there a way to revert to older map style before they added the pokemon pictures and the colored circles for pokestops/gyms?
