Is there a fix for AutoFollower and avoidance?

I was wondering if there is a way to fix so bots on AutoFollower actually use the Trinity avoidance? The AF bots just runs right in to every AoE they can find, when I play the main I've tried setting follow distance and such to minimal so I can move and they follow. However when I let the main run Grifts, the bots just runs into every AoE they can.
