Im looking to get back into botting. I have two accounts but would only have one running at a time. Is this reasonably safe from a ban? I obviously understand there are risks to botting but if its just one account running at all times questing to level up is that very risky?

You will hear countless theories on why an account gets banned. Botting "smart" is the only thing I could suggest to you as a long time ( no ban ) user. By smart, I mean not running your accounts excessively, not farming an item for countless hours and then posting hundreds of auctions. Things like these examples will draw attention to you, which is certainly something no one wants. As always there is a risk, regardless of how you do it. You just want to minimize it as much as possible.

The most common reason is getting reported by other players followed by investigation from a GM. Gathering ores and herbs used to be the most commonly reported activity. Personally, I think most of those reports were from other botters attacking their competition. In the last year it seems that BGBuddy (not to be confused with BGFarmer) has been the most widely reported bot. Don't use it! It is not safe. Everyone that has played WoW for more than a year knows what it is, and THEY WILL REPORT YOU! If you want to run BG's your best bet is to use Enyo and run them by hand. BGFarmer by Millz seems to have a lot of support as well. However, anything that may run you into a wall, or have half a dozen players all jump in unison 12 steps out of the gate, or cause bot like behavior in a BG is possibly going to get you reported.

I've been botting for around 8 years (obviously not just with HB) on the same account and even the same characters. The best advice I can give you is bot as human-like as possible, most bans happen as a result of player reports or over the top obvious bot behaviour this means:

- Make sure your profiles don't get stuck frequently, yes this means you have to keep an eye on it.
- Don't bot for days on end without breaks, a break does not mean 5 minutes, it means take a real break because humans sleep and work and stuff.
- Don't bot where everyone else is botting. This means don't download the most popular grinding profile and run it exclusively.
- Don't use the default BG buddy CC ever. These days watching bot trains in BGs is pretty hilarious and they all get reported a lot.
- Leave Gun'drak alone...

Most people tend to get banned for being stupid than for having multiple account going.
