Is it not allowed to sell a Guild?

Last week i sold my lvl 25 guild.

The buyer had gold on another realm, where i was planning to transfer my main, so i made a lvl 1 char and he gave me 250k.

Now i got a ingame mail from GM:

We regret to inform you that we have unfortunately had to remove gold from your account as we have verified that this was originally acquired this through illegitmate means and needed to be reclaimed.

We regret we are unable to reply to in-game mail.

And all my gold is gone :(

Any suggestions of what I can do?

Here is a link that might help:
Impact of Buying Gold - Services - World of Warcraft

But anyway, They track all high gold transfers, and if the player that gave it to you got it in a way that is unfair or illegal, even though you didnt do anything wrong, they will take the gold back and put it in the right place.

So either, He stole the gold, used 3rd party software to acquire the gold, or some other means that blizzard does not approve of.

They guy you got the gold from got it from bad means, so it was taken away, had nothing to do with the selling of your guild.

Did you level the guild legally? Just asking because they also do this, if the guild has been leveled, using the recent guild rep/exp exploit(s).

Leveling of the guild was done legally, no problem there..

Simply put the gold was obtained illegally by him so ask the GM for the guild back.
They should do that as the guild was obtained by fraud.
