Is it me or is champion farming gear sooo expensive now?

Call me foolish but I just spent about 30m on the AH which can farm act 1 very well but can't even farm act 2. Discuss. (Don't insult me please).

*edit* For the slower people here....this above line of text was meant to exaggerate the topic of discussion. I am champ farming on Act 1 with many bots and have bought full champ farming gear for my barbs for 1M or less in the past. I was just hoping to get some discussion on the matter of AH price fluctuations, you know, the present D3 economy..etc.

Also i'd be willing to bet the people saying "you're doing this all wrong" have less than 5 bots and have hardly made any serious cash using demon buddy. :cool:

Not for people to:

1. Brag about how little they have bought gear for (Yes I know in the edit I have included it but I was just showing you what many people are doing).
2. Misunderstand the whole point of the thread.

How much gold does it take a barb to farm act2/3 well now? 100m-200m?
 
Changed my skills around to suit 1.04 and seems like i'm dying much less now on act 1, might try act 2 again when i'm feeling brave :P
 
If you're dying then you're most likely not on a barb so there's your problem
 
If you spent 30m on gear for a act 1 barb and you die even some, you are definitely doing this all wrong.

I've got 30k dps(buffed), 1005allres (buffed), 1150 LOH, 35khp. With my new skillset for 1.04 i'm not dying on act1. I was meant to be able to farm act2 with this 30m investment. But are my stats enough to even farm act2?

Don't know how you can't farm act 1... Or act 2. I've spent roughly 1 mil on a budget barb, handles easily act 1. Spent another 5 mil in gear and now running act 2 quite easily.
900 AR
1400 LoH
10k armor
20k dps but I'm also running with enchantress that got 6k dps
100 mf without stacks and paragon
 
guys can u post what profiles/plugins rules u use to champ farm a1/a2 for monk and barb?

im paid less than 500k prenerf for viable a1 farming gear. you're doing it wrong.

Weird as last night I checked for the cheapest prices on AH and couldn't find viable act 1 gear for less than 10m. Hence why I said "NOW". Not 2 days ago. Not pre-nerf. Now as in the day I made the thread.

And to the people saying i'm doing it wrong...no. I have also spent 1-2m or less on gear that can farm act1 EASILY before yesterday. Hence why I made the thread...

I may have been unlucky and chose a bad time to buy gear as the AH fluctuates so much. I'm not someone who sits on the AH for hours waiting for cheap stuff. I just filter what I want and then filter the prices right then and buy the cheapest available for the stats I want. Or I may have gone a bit overboard with the strength but i doubt it.

To the people stating how they spent so little on X gear. Buy (on the US server) to get stats similar to mine stated in an earlier post (including gems) (buffed) and i'll pay you 10M for it all. Considering you can buy it for 5m or whatever and I need to spend like 30m on it, it's a win-win situation, right? :rolleyes:

lol @ people claiming they have spent a few mill and running act 2...
ive spent 60m with gg stats and i still die here and there.
 
DPS is a huge money sink when getting farming gear. You don't actually need a whole lot. I geared a barb for 3 mil the other day that farms Act 1 with a death every 2 hours or so, just on bad luck. He has 12k dps and kills things without a problem. I have another that cost less than 10 mil and has even lower DPS but higher res and thorns damage, and goes through Act 2 with very few deaths.

Not saying that DPS isn't helpful, but it is secondary to staying alive.
