I believe, its roughly 16 million atm to craft 1 gem, maybe closer to 17 because the cost of gems went up.

You need 729 flawless squares to start + like 15,000,000 gold and you also need like 1600+ tome of secrets. Probably still not worth it.

If you craft as go would think worth it. Or just do ones you may use for self. Like emeralds.
I made an AutoIt crafter for it. Posted in developement thread.
As far as I know DB can not craft at this time.

when I said 16-17 million i was incorporating the 729 Flawless Squares which are currently (or were this morning) selling for 4200 a piece. Add in Tomes that are selling for 250 a piece.

1631 Tomes x 250 = 407,750
729 Gems x 4200 = 3,061,800
crafting the gems = 15,400,00

Total Cost = 18,869,550

The 19 Million (rounded up) is of course if you BOUGHT the gems and Tomes off the AH. When I looked last night Radiant Star Emeralds were 20 million a piece. So thats only a profit of 1 million. It also from start to finish takes roughly an hour to craft 1 gem. I use a macro keyboard to craft mine, but i only make ones I need. Otherwise i just sell off my green and red gems because it is entirely minimal profit to craft the gems up.

(and remember, this is or was current prices this morning at 8am eastern, it can flucuate based on current prices for gems and will go down in price by a decent bit for red gems, and even more for purple/yellows)

You are forgetting the 15% the AH takes.... Unless you want to try to sell them individually in the trade channel.

Yeah my post was just to craft it. Lets say they are selling for 20. The AH is gona take 1.5 million, meaning you are gonna get 300k les than what it cost to craft it. My bot makes 500k an hour in just gold, not to mention the items. Way more profitable to just bot gold/items than to craft gems.

When d3 Started I made most of my gold Gem Crafting. This website is really useful for calculating costs : The Ultimate Gem Cost Calculator | Diablo AH Guide. It's for 1.03 but nothing has changed since in pricing. It allows you to input all costs of mats and shows how much of any gem you will need to upgrade to any other gem. Calculate the total cost then look at what that particular gem is selling for in the AH and multiply by .85. If the cost is still lower that's your profit xD.

To stick on topic.
I would say that just pure crafting of gems, buying mats, to sale. Is not profitable. Considering time sink.

Now if you craft as go. And just craft gems you need, or plan to buy. Then I would consider it a savings. Not a profit.
Say for example you dont have all maxed gems in right now. Then over time crafting them yourself. You will save roughly 4mill per gem.

So making for profit, only if you have shit ton (maybe funnel all gems from 10 accts to 1) and plenty of time. Only way profit in my eyes is if you dont pay for mats.

If not, then craft ones need. Sell rest as is.
