Is anyone else feeling discouraged about the price of profiles in the buddystore?

And the effect for this is the Pirates will come and everyone will lose.

I use Gatherit profiles, the prices are reasonable.
But there is some folks in Buddystore trying to extort us, selling overpriced profiles, plugins, routines.

Why would u need a botbase to do something easliy acomplished by a profile?

Take a look at botbases instead of profiles if you want to farm reputation.

You'd have to give some examples. I couldn't really understand paying for a basic hotspot style profile, but if there's some clever, difficult, time consuming stuff in there, then it becomes a question of personal value. Basically a time v's money thing, where time is a choice between doing the thing manually, or creating a profile yourself. There's still plenty of good profiles on the forums to use as a base or find example of stuff.

i like the store. and i like the high pricing. i will tell you why.
i used BG Buddy for years. and the community grew and grew. 9 of 10 charakters in bg's used bgbuddy. so i stopped.
than bg farmer came. that thing was expencive. but i bought it. and wow. a totally new experiance. no other bots ran the exact same route i did. it should be sold for 300$. not less.
HB can still do BG's without BG Farmer. BGBuddy ist still working. and it is free.
If BG Farmer goes free too... why should i use it? it would be the same as BGBuddy now.

HB is fully functional. you don't need anything from the store.
Routine: Singular. works for all classes, all specs. it is community driven. if you want changes, call bobby.
BotBases: we have grinding, gethering, questing, bgbuddy and more. everything for free. everything works.
Profiles. There are ton's of free profiles. in the stroe, and still in the forum.
Now you may think, that this one special profile from the store is so good. you need it! but it is 15$. there is a reason. same as you there are 10.000 other botters. who want this profile. and if 12 people on your server use this profile at the same time, it is suddenly not so good anymore.
store profiles are exclusive content. and that is good. would it be free, everybody would use it, and it wouldn't be so good anymore.

HB hasn't the community that it had 3 years ago. i don't mean the quality. i am talking about the quantity. look around in wow. 3 years ago, you were 1 of 5 botters on your server. now you are 1 of 500 botters. botting is mainstream now. and as long as there are expencive things, you have the possibility to make something different than others. if the paid stuff is free again, all 500 botters on your server will do it.

Well said lol back in day people still sold profiles as they do now it was just less secured.

You are talking directly about a single botbase. I'm talking as a whole.

the one botbase is the whole. it doesn't mind if i talk about 1 botbase, or 10 profiles. it is the point for everything that you find.
everything that is offered for free is overused until it isn't useable anymore.
the store keeps some things exclusive. and thats good.
take the excellent work of Echotiger as an example. his profiles are good, and free.
now move your char to gundrak, halls of lightning, tolvir,... whereever. you will see 20 bots per minute (probably more) walking in and out the instances. it are echotigers free and good profiles. why do i know that? cos nobody would place a mobile guildchest at the dungeon portal except echotigers profiles.
before echo published his profile pack i was almost alone in all wotlk dungeons. for more than a year. making it public destroyed this way of botting. now you get banned within days, and loot is nerfed too.

there you see it. everything that is free is overused. this forum has meanwhile more than 200.000 registered users ( 228,726 to be exact). sure, some bot with other bossland products, some don't bot at all. but others bot with 20-100 bots.

paid profiles gives you something that not everybody does. and it is fine to have to pay for something that not everybody has.

What will happen if everybody uses the AHBot from the store? It is a good bot. and it is paid. if to many people use it, it is worthless.
What will happen if everybody uses profile xyz from the store? it would be useless, see example of Echotigers profiles.
What will happen if everybody use whatever from the store? can you figure out the answer for yourself?

Profile's for the most part are ridiculously easy to make. Honestly if you don't like the price, spend a few hours and write your own. It literally takes almost no effort to write profiles and you do not even need to know how to code.

considering how easy it is, i'd like someone to show us how to do it at least once then.

Check out the wiki. I went from knowing nothing, no clue about coding or anything, to having my first profile written in under an hour. 8 hours of testing later and it's a 100% fully AFKable rep grind.

i spent money on a profile and i am very disappointed in it .... i wish all authors had a 3-5 day trial .... i have a 669 ilvl and cant break 22k dps in a raid .,.... sad sad day for me

Aaaah the good old price discussion again. Not a single week without such a thread.
I want a Porsche but can't afford it. My mum teached me if I can't afford things you wanna have wait until you can or just dream on.
There are enough things still for free people can use. HB is a framework. You can add lots of things if you want but you can't expect everything to be for free.
Do not forget that small one hour projects of 3rd party devs became a full time job and really really much work over the past months of development so its simply fair
that small things are shared but for big things people now ask money.
I could easily add all stuff to my store account. It's just a database entry for me but I bought 90% of all stuff in order to show my appreciation to the devs and to support them. I hope more people see it this way.

It's a profile free grinding botbase, you can take it anywhere and hit the start button, but yeah, this isn't what the thread was about.

If you feel that something in the store is too expensive then it's simple, don't buy it, end of discussion.

What makes Templar better than Grindbot + Fighthere (https://www.thebuddyforum.com/honor...modified-fighthere.html?highlight=fighthere)? ...
You start Grindbot, click plugins, click fighthere, chose mobs to grind, and don't need any profiles.

I've read a lot of "If it's too expensive don't buy it". My response is, what about the exclusivities of these profiles? I see a lot of normal profiles that are being sold for a high price and there is NO alternative, you either buy their script or you're shit out of luck.
