Interesting GM Message

Got an interesting GM Answer yesterday..
Maybe the GM is bluffing, but regarding to the MASSIVE banns maybe the developers should change sth in the bots anti detection system..


So thats what he said:

Regarding your problem with your account, we have changed the action on the account from a ban to a 72 hour suspension final warning,

please note that the action is already running and will end 2013-05-01 22:22:34.

Any future use of automated game play, which we can indeed verifiy despite what bot makers will tell you, will result in a permanent closure of the account.

If they take a look on 95% people from here all what they gona see is: mount, dismunt, pickup node, mount,dismount, pickup node for 10 hoursa day for couple of weeks and months.

Not the first time they mention "next times" and "definite detection" when not using the Blizz-approved GM reply macros. Is it scare tactics or a slip-up? You tell me.

That's not actually a valid reason to ban. To be honest, a GM can never be 100% sure you are a botter unless the software itself is detectable. Even if your character behaves 100% like a bot, there can always be an excuse.

You see, it's not like a GM whispers you and then bans you if you don't respond but your character is moving. They don't do that, because you might not pay attention to the chat, have a chat tab without whispers on or you even don't have the chat at all in the UI. Somehow, they have a 100% way of validating a player is botting otherwise they wouldn't ban.

becuase of that they give you 72hours so they dont lose a subscriber and scares you to stop botting.

That's straight up a lie. I got permanently banned w/o warning, appealed it and it got reopened. they are banning in the dark. IF alot of factors points at you botting (lots of gold gained over small timeframe, no quests/gear, alot of gold going out of the account etc) they might just ban you straight up without 100% proof. they don't need 100% proof. they are allowed to ban you for whatever.

Dont u realy understand how they detect bot ? You are funny. Things that Blizz check on an account and see botting or not. It is so easy

1. First they need a simple report or a suspicious routine on an account. = Yes
2. Check account for 'Click to Move' enabled = Yes
3. Does character clicks the exactly same spot on map multiple times (which a human could do that with 1/billion ore less probablity) = Yes
4. Result = BOTTER -> BANNN !

They dont need any clue else.

So all bot programs use 'Click To Move' and no matter u use which form of the bot if there is a Hotspot in your routine bot clicks exactyl the same spot and Taaa Daaaa if Blizz inspects ur account no escape u Banned !

Now find yourself a way to protect your account banning. (i found a simple way , not so hard just think about what i said and u can find same simple answer. GL )

PS. I am testing my solution with GatherBuddy and GrindBot for aprox. 12 days no ban yet for 6 accouts im stil testing.

bot server detection has increased but not client side, all they'd need to do is lower the amount of nodes per hour or player reports needed for an auto ban.

That was my point. They DO ban even though they can't fully prove it. You can actually get banned because of a huge coincidence.

Try acting like a bot on one account, report yourself from another and you will get banned.

Can u go into details? How were you acting like a bot? and how do you know you were reported? were you in battlegrounds when this happened?

I really don't understand you guys. Blizzard can prove you are botting 100%, only reason why they don't ban all of us is MONEY MONEY MONEY, those 3 reasons are main problem. I started playing Guild Wars and after few days there was bot for game, and 2 days after that developers banned ALL of them only because they are not same like blizzard, they care about money, but they care more about their game and how will they earn their money. Blizzard didn't choose same way, they just know how to make money when they need it, BAN 5000 accounts and give promotion on battlechest, if that is not enough, ban more and let's see how long people will keep buying accounts. After all that, you are all still buying account (me also, just started 5 new) and blizzard is happy and you come here to flame Tony or Kick or i don't even know who do you blame anymore. For all of us who make money in WOW, there are 2 good solutions, First: Blizzard will let us bot like there is not tomorrow and Second: Blizzard will ban all and every single bot in game. But after that blizzard will have ANOTHER problem, they will have REAL people farming gold and making alot money because gold price will be much higher if there is no bot but blizzard will than have problem locating gold sellers and even if they locate you LOL "please take my 1 account, ill make another in 2 days and start selling gold again" this would be my Ticket to blizzard in that situation. But there is no profit for blizzard if you have 1 account, thats why botting is allowed, so you can make little empire with 30-100 bots and BOOOOOM perma ban on 50% and 72 hours on another 50% so i think its clear like water what is blizzard doing. We bot and blizzard collect tax that's all. Enough from me....

I agree with you fully. Blizzard can detect almost every bot, they choose not to ban them on the spot because it would crash the economy, players would be angry, would have to farm more because mats price will sky rocket and so on. So they choose to let a small portion of bots running constantly to keep the market at a certain level, so that they earn more money in the long run. Its been like that for years.
They want the game to be easy and fun to play, to make you login a couple of hours per week , but pay their subscription every month. They want players to play for a low amount of hours but be completely satisfied of their experience so that they buy a new month and so on. If they would make players grind like in vanilla.. they would lose a lot of customers. Most people dont have time to play, only 3-4 hours per day in average. Imagine playing 3-4 hours, but in those hours you'd be grinding. Grinding is not fun! Fun is pvping, raiding, spamming endless potions, flasks, questing... etc
Blizz will always do a clean up every few months. In the long run, they will win more money, from new subscriptions, new cd-keys, legit players will see that they are "taking action" against botters , and so on.
People who have experience using bots have seen this "movie" before.

Can u go into details? How were you acting like a bot? and how do you know you were reported? were you in battlegrounds when this happened?

Well, it seems i was reported by the char's name violating tos because of trademark (not sure why, because the name has no meaning at all - i made a search on google and couldnt relate it with any brand or something). For that ive got a 72h suspention. Then i apealed on it asking why were i banned and they answered that i abused game mechanics on bgs (ive never used any bot on bgs). Blizzard is completly making shoots in the dark for banning people. Just before i got banned i was using gb2 for gather herbs and ghost iron ore on valey of 4 winds, and as i was 100% supervising the bot, i saw that i was near a tree collecting a herb and was teleported about 20 yards away bellow an hut. I tought it was some kind of lag or something but i press stop button right away (i saw the log and hb tryied to unstuck 2 times). So when the bot stoped i made hearth stone to the city and logged out. I logged in on another char so check some stuff and a couple of minutes later was disconnected and when tryed to log in i was banned.

Are you people all that naive?
HB is a business, they are always going to say that the bot is never detected.
It's like someone selling a car or a cellphone, they will always say that it is the best in the market, and that it will never fail.
Blizzard can do whatever the fuck they want.
Botting is mostly over.

But what about a bypass? Since we already know memory is being edited. Why not somehow disable part of blizzards system used to flag botters. I'm pretty sure they don't have all the time in the world to check millions of accounts.
