This is what I do:
I farm bot for 8-12 hours a day, roughly 5 days a week. 4-6 hours over night, then 1-2 hour break. Then 4-6 hours in the morning/early afternoon. Never in late afternoon/early evening (aka peek hours). And no botting on patch/update days (tuesday). I usually give it a break on Saturdays as well cuz its a busy play day most the time on my server. I NEVER bot for more than 12 hours a day, and some weeks I'll shut it all down for Sat and Sun just to act like a real person, and tbh I'm rich now and dont have to be consistent.
On my main acct I have 5 alchemist. So I make tons of ghost iron bars, do the whole mail/gb/mail/gb to my main acct. Then I transmute it all to trillium. I sell trillium bars for roughly 50g each and transmute living steel bars daily. They sell for roughly 500g each and with 5 alchemist (4 transmute masters) I get a stack of 20 every 4 days tops, but mostly 3 days do to procs.
Flasks are good money too. I kinda rotate. When I start slightly flooding the trillium market (noticing the bar price is dropping to 35g - 40g per bar range) I switch and make flasks. And back and forth.
I'll make 1-2 bank toons and lvl them to 15-20 every month. This makes it so my name is never remembered in the AH, and if it is, he's gone within a few weeks anyways. I lvl them a bit just cuz ppl hate when a lvl 1 is putting up 4 stacks of trill, 2 stacks of living, and 2 stacks of each flask every couple of days. I've never had an issuse with Blizz doing this but if I did I figure I could just claim they are twinks and I delete and redo them at lvl 20 (I BG buddy from 10-20 anyways).
If you have a jc and/or enchanter there is profit there as well. Just on my server jems go up and down in price faster than a schizophrenia hooker and I find I make better/faster profit from my main routine. But if I get overloaded with ghost iron ore I won't hesitate to prospect it.
To be honest I make 5k - 10k a day easily. I feel its a nice spot to be and I stay under the radar good. Every few weeks I get a little over stacked on mats and do an AH bomb and make 20k - 30k but don't like/need to do it daily.
I feel pretty safe doing this and have never had any issues in the last 3 months of solid botting or the 2 months I did it at the start of MoP (took a break due to having a baby). Hope this helps ya! And you now know all my secrets!
