Inquiry about multiple instances of WoW (1 botting + 1 human played at same time)

Hello everyone,

I apologize in advance if this has been answered but over 30 minutes of scouring the forums I was unable to find a concrete answer on my question.

I have not botted since using Glider in early BC so my knowledge about current gen bots such as GB or HB is minimal. I am sure there has been huge advances in bots since glider so this is why I started this thread.

If I am running GB or HB on my farming account is it safe to open a second instance of WoW and play my main account? Is HB more safe than GB or vice versa on this topic? I remember with Glider it hooked into the WoW.exe file so any other instances of WoW that were opened without Glider were highly susceptible to Warden.

So far from running GB it appears to not latch into WoW like Glider did so I would appreciate some input as to whether I increase my risk of detection when running a bot on one account while playing my main account that is just being played by me. I ideally would like the ability to have a bot farming while I raid etc.

Thanks,
Mfrosty

Hi, mfrosty,

Both Honorbuddy and Gatherbuddy use injection techniques, so that means they do 'hook on' to WoW the same way Glider did. Both Buddy products run Warden protection--called Tripwire (not to be confused with the network monitoring tool)--that seems to be very effective.

People that get banned using this product so far seem to have been from server-side detection. Basically, doing unsafe behaviors that cause player-reports in battlegrounds, botting 24/7 for a week solid, or mostly from selling gold.

We run multiple WoW instances all the time. A couple that bot, and one that we hand-play, on the same box. Its no problem at all.

Your 'main' account is at risk only if you detectably 'link' it to your botting account through some form of interaction. You might give the following article a look, as it provides some information for what you seek...
[wiki]HB Usage: How do I keep from getting banned?[/wiki]

Hope this helps, & cheers,
