Increase in poor use attitudes

Over the past two months I have noticed a dramatic increase in the appalling behaviour of our user base. This has been steadily increasing and I think it is time to say enough is enough.

I know these people are paying customers but when was the last time you walked into a retail outlet, abused the attendant, called them a "butt-hurt control freak" and still expected to receive top quality service from them? If someone said that my face I would punch them out, yet we appear to let this kind of behaviour slide while these brusque users run rampant.

I have received a number of complaints from long-term community members expressing the same concerns.

Thoughts, opinions comments?

Just delete/edit their posts and remove the offending material. It's really that simple.

yea, there's a reason why i don't go into irc anymore, it just seems like any mod or staff says anything in there, that it just gets twisted into something negative and its a shame really. if the mute user group still isnt working, thats something that needs to be fixed, since banning users from even getting on the forums and downloading updates isn't a good thing specially if they can go in irc, and stir up shit.

This is really all it is. With the user base consistently growing, the number of bad apples also increases. Its just a matter of people needing to be dealt with, ban or otherwise. If there's one thing I have zero tolerance for its people talking shit or stirring up trouble with the staff, and will result in multiple infractions or an outright ban.
