So you want an explanation how a common path used by bots can be detected. Seriously. Anyone who uses a bot to control their path is just asking for trouble.

CTM has absolutely nothing at all to do with the pathing, other than CTM is what is used to run the paths.

What you are looking for is randomized movement, which again, would not involve CTM at all.

I think you'll find this all revolves around the combination of CTM and pathing. A series of straight-line movements between waypoints looks very different to an observer compared to the random meanderings of a WASD player.

On a related note, a couple of months ago I saw two chars about 3 seconds apart following the exact same path from Kick's levelling scripts. Hands down the most suspicious thing I have ever seen. No idea if it was the same person or not, but it's about the best argument you could get for watching what your bot is doing.

I've botted bgs 24/7 for 2-3 days straight for gear capping. people whispering "nice honor buddy" "you botting" , thanks to WIM addon. point is I still do it on the same account, you are less likely to get a banned account if you disable your use ground mount and in the game un que for eye of the storm (buggy, stagger a lot) and temple of kotmogu ( totally obvious you are botting to others) and choose random bg in your bot setup, but again don't use a ground mount keeps you somewhat under the radar and people will just think "look another newb" works for me every time honor capping and getting bags full the bonus chests. hope this helps ya , cheers.

You're straight up wrong on this matter. In fact, I'd argue that normal players take more straight-lines than any CTM based user. You want to know why? Because normal people know that the fastest way between two points is a straight line. It's the pathing built into the bot that gives botters away. The bot run some pretty funky paths that normal players do not do, like running around trees and huts in a way that no normal player does.

CTM has absolutely nothing to do with these paths, what we need is a randomized pathing system, especially in BG's. HB can continue to use CTM all they want, its the paths themselves that need to be randomized.

Right angle turning is a dead giveaway. I'll grant it can happen with WASD/mouse usage, but it would never happen with every course change. The lack of strafing, jumping and non-angled turning will also raise a red flag to other players. This is especially true in PVP.

As I'm sure you aware - when you hit the chat window when in combat- You are no longer able to input keyboard stokes into the game- until you have left that chat dialog..

Most bot developers believe this can be monitored by blizzard (not really hard if you think about) , In fact most bots have a option called "Disable Bot when chat window opened"

I would suggest NOT chatting whilst in combat, if the bot is doing something because you are doing something other players can not- this is a pretty clear sign you are botting.

Many other combat rotation only bots talk more about this in greater detail..

I believe addons like WIM bypass that restriction been chatting and bottling for years with WIM.


PS Player Reports mainly from BGs are crazy quick bans now days.

WIM is a UI that takes over the Chat API.. hence the player is no longer using the built in UI for chatting.. This is a mute point.

if u play in an area that u might ruin the game experience for someone else by botting u will get reported FAST.
and the guy saying ppl got to know how botting looked like in bg's etc 2 years ago,
no they come to know abt that many years ago **wowglider** and if im not wrong bossland and the guys was making something for the wowglider named ppather back in days,
i think i remember gatherbuddy was a part of that aswell.

so its wide known. u have to put your self in the head of those that want this game *****ing free to understand how you can avoid to many reports.
do i move static? (enough to get attention)
do i suddenly run in a small circle for nothing? ( attention)
do i run into a wall ? (attention)
do i run forward then back up to the last hotspot before i continue to the next hotspot? (attention)
do i run into stuff back up by *s* then pause strafe to the right and pause then start to move forward? (attention) do i run into things and do this when i could jumped over it? (attention)
in bg's and dungeons and any of these things happens combined with bad DPS, bad healing or tanking your asking for reports faaaaast and many.

if it was possible to always meet your own team in bg's running 2x 10 mans u would not have the report problem. if u do 5 mans with 5 accounts u dont have the report problem, but here u need to take other things in consideration. would 5 ppl run dungeons 24/7 without any breaks at all? no ofc not we are not talking abt cartman and the guys here so give them breaks and let them ''sleep''

safest is to never go fully AFK make pop up windows for /w to be able to answer fast you dont want the messages to be automated.. if u need to go AFK bring your smartphone and use teamviewer.

this is some of the the things i try to keep in mind. ofc i got bitten by laziness and tried BGfarmer used a couple of hours to be sure i got it right and i got a ban within and hour or so...

so my advice is think does this look like something i would report if i was one of them?, if i bot like this and blizz looks into my loggs or have some program to catch inhuman behavior will they catch me?
