The game client may monitor your computer's RAM and/or CPU processes for unauthorized third party programs running concurrently with the game. Its only a matter of time they will get you.

Not entirely true, botted in wow for well over 2 years then stopped, over 3 years ago, still not banned.

I'm pretty sure they do this like many others.

However it is completely ILLEGAL.. so if one of you guys has the funds for a lawyer you can sue them big time.

It is unauthorized access of a computer for them to read your process list.

but in General it is legal that someone to you in the computer enters and scans (representatives of Blizzard)?

No. It is not legal, it's also considered unauthorized access of a computer.

On two counts. Illegal access of a computer network and Illegal access of a private computer.

They probably still do it though..

They have the money.. they know they can break any law they want and the worst they'll get is a million dollar fine or something which to a corporation of their size amounts to a slap on the wrist.

I was wondering why they wouldn't just get a process list myself, in order to detect demonbuddy.. as it should be fairly easy with tasklist.exe

but then I remembered the legal issues they would run into.

It seemed like something that could cause serious legal trouble if someone with the funds to start a case against them happened to notice this.

You know all those dialog prompts and checkboxes from companies like microsoft and google that ask if it's ok for them to collect information about your computer privately?

Well that's because those companies know better. It is illegal to collect identifiable information from someone's computer without their consent. Heck its illegal to collect it even it isn't identifiable. They have to specifically ask you for it and by law they also have to provide you with an option to opt-out.

For those who used the bot and did not get caught, I wish I had your luck. That being said I believe that Blizz likely knows everyone who bots but to uphold the reuse will only act on a percentage to make it appear random. Many who have recieved the ban are high paragon earners. Perhaps they want to level the playing field for the legitimate players moving forward. I bought the bot because I wanted to maintain my standard of living, friends, work etc and not have to play 10000 hours to become a powerful player. In seasons I reached paragon 600+ it was fun and I assumed that i would get caught and did. For those who used bots in the past and not for a long time since (years), are probably safe i think. I believe the game has evolved, and the game client has evolved also. I have an unlimited DB licence, that being said I look to DB to upgrade/change their software to combat Blizz spyware. This is cyber warfare after all... time to strike back!

That's the standard copy-pasted reply they give you when you try appealing. Seen it many times before, and most of the time I doubt they're even reading your ticket/post.

They don't ban you in WoW because you pay them each month!
