i think there is a small ban wave going on

Just got email from blizzard, accounts closed after some hours of waiting

Type of Violation: Exploitation
Category of Violation: Third Party Program
Character Name Involved:

he said on call i did something that a normal player couldnt do maybe the weird zigzag movement and stuf
This zigzag stuff is really bot-like. I did a bot on my main and it was switching targets like mad, the same speed the zigzag walk was.

Luckily for me, I stopped botting literally two days ago because hb broke and never got back to fixing it.

one friend of mine who got a perma ban wrote to blizzard and they answered this:

"We have completed an investigation into your account closure, and this has been overturned to a 72 hour suspension. This is due to the use of third party programs, which is against the Terms of Use (Blizzard Entertainment: Battle.net Terms of Use).

The use of such programs or files is clearly unfair to the World of Warcraft community playing regularly and is not tolerated on our servers.

Following a review of your case, we can confirm that such program has been used by your account, and that the subsequent action taken is appropriate. We would not look to enter into any further communications on this issue as the matter is now considered closed.

Please note that this is a Final Warning - if your account is found to be using such programs again, it may be closed permanently. "

the question that i asked to myself is (i'm still a noob in botting, so forgive me maybe for what i'm gonna say): if they act with a BAN WAVE, how do they see if we used BOT or not? i've read about a guy here who's account have been banned also if he (or his bot) played for 10 min and wasn't even online in that moment... i came to the answer that using a bot leaves some traces in someway, and i suppose all of you knew this...
but what kind of traces? where does it leave them? is someone able to answer to this question? maybe all together we can achieve a solution

P.S. consider that in this case you didn't receive any botting report from any player (10 min game example)

I think some of you have down syndrome and just like creating drama. I bot carelessly and haven't been detected.

Seriously though, I remember the Glider banwave ... literally within minutes around 60,000 accounts were banned and the forums and irc channels simply imploded with people complaining. That my friends ... is a "banwave".

While there has been a lot of discussion on these forums about Blizzard getting smarter at detecting and/or dealing with player reports (instant interrupts and LCP). The majority of the ban reports I've been reading go along the lines of:
  • "I was on Gatherbuddy for 46 hours completely AFK and now i'm banned wtf?"
  • "I just got banned Questing, I've never done anything else, except for 24/7 BGBuddy while I'm AFK"
  • "I was AFK and my char was stuck jumping at a wall for 6 hours"

This is not symptomatic of a banwave, it is symptomatic of being a little stooooopid.

My $0.02

^^ Also keep in mind Honorbuddy is far more popular than Glider ever was. The results of a banwave would be 100 times worse than the glider one.

the bot isnt detected but the behavior is and the stucknes and the movement with the zigzag and the looting isnt great to sometimes he doesend loot the mob i called with blizzard why i was banned and he said my player was doing things a normal human been couldnt do lol and i dont use any other hacks liek flying going trough walls etc:) and ive botted for 12 months careless to 12 hours a day with questing and now im losed 2 accounts with questmode so i wont be questing til those things wil be fixed the target glitch and zigzag and more

Just got email from blizzard, accounts closed due to abuse of economy on all of them..All the emails with farmed ore goed to one bank account, only had auctions from that bank account, and I transfered the money from bank account to the one from wich I sold gold..But the gold selling account is not banned..Is it possible they made the connection, because of the emails?

yes but its a wrong template of banned email for me i dont use gatherbuddy i use questbot raidbotting arenabotting and ive never been banned for that ive been banned for the weird behavior in questing zigzagging targeting mobs from a distance and dont know where to go stuck behavior and other things i know the bot is safe but the behavior not. i never did any auctions in those 12 months only quest money making

As highvoltz said in another topic, questing now is the top priority for the DEV team:

Development for Dungeonbuddy dungeon scripts (esp LFR) is on hold atm because questing takes priority and needs fixing.

i know i used glider for a few years to but if glider didnt got shutdown they would have made alot of feature to i remember kranky he was funny and other guys from glider

I think it really comes down to using the bot for raiding or casting spells. It can see how many you are executing per second/per min and know that some numbers are only achieved by a bot and not by a human. I was farming ore for past 3 weeks on a custom profile and have received 0 whispers from anyone. Especially farming on a low pop brand new server. But, last night i used tyreal plugin for LFR and boom, caught in this wave. I would only post 100 auctions a day also....

Same exact time mine got banned down to the minute.

Well I wasn't even playing in WOW when I got banned, the time is from the e-mail letter I received. I tried logging in around 12:00 am and could not get online.
I submitted a ticket, will wait now and post later on results.

Was mining on my main account, usually 2-4 hours a day. Got the Perma ban this morning. Went to dispute the ticket through the online chat option. Talked to the GM asked him where he got his name saying it was really cool, talked about the GM school he goes through. All in all, he said this was my 2nd time getting account banned per botting. He said it was over a year ago and my "riot act" was not read to me so he lowered my perma ban to a 72 hour suspension through a "loophole" mistake the last GM made.

All in all I got my account back and I am happy!

I am going to purchase another account to only bot on. What methods do you use to get the gold from your bot account to your main account? If i trade gold with my bot account and main account will i get both accounts banned? Looking for some secure methods.

Thanks

The best way I've found to transfer gold is the same that many gold sellers use, and that is to use an active guild as a front. Purchase or create a guild, use addons to invite many lowbies and turn it into a "social" guild with lots of members with the Cash Flow perk active (the guild will level if you didn't already buy a max level one). Buy a couple bank tabs for members to use, designate a daily repair cap, buy a couple tabs for personal use if you want some storage. Put your bot account into the guild, participate in gchat somewhat frequently, and then just drop gold in the guild bank in increments. A couple grand here, couple grand there. Withdraw from it on your main account, but I'm not sure if it would be best to withdraw in large or small increments. Personally, I just like to hoard gold, so it just sits in there. The main point is to avoid any kind of connection between main and bot, so avoid mail and face-to-face trading at all costs.

--------------------------

I don't think we're under any kind of automated banwave, but there is absolutely something that is alerting their security system. I don't think the Guardian system they're using is perfect, and they know that, so they're still having to manually review accounts flagged by the detection system and making decisions based on that information. It would make sense, because the bans are happening throughout the day instead of in one fell swoop.

I was driving around for some time and then I realized that Blizzcon is on this weekend, maybe that is a reason for that many bans today, of course just a theory but it sound better when they can talk about a recent banwave ...
The other thing that happened is just crazy ...
I already mentioned on the first page that I had lost 4 accounts i bought sunday, I used them to sign a guild charter for my Botaccount, created 4 toons on his server, signed the charter and never logged in on these chars again,
3 of them started Kicks 1-90 on sunday, the 4th was not touched at all except the signing - im running the bots on an older pc I have standing next to my machine, and i realized that it is at its capacity with 3 questing accounts, so thats why the fourth.
Well the farming account was banned too he was farming mats, sending them to a toon, he sold all of it and placed the gold in the guild bank it was a little bit over 11k daily on average for the last month.
The accounts which I purchased on Sunday were reviewed and stay banned, even the one who only signed the charter and had 10 minutes of playtime on level 1 in the starting zone ...
"This account was closed after a Blizzard Entertainment investigation produced evidence indicating the account was associated to multiple accounts that participated in exploitative activities. Upon further review, we have determined that our original findings were accurate and the action was in line with our current policies."

The botting account which - I first did not even want to appeal - had his ban completely removed ...

So what I am trying to understand is:

They must have checked all of them, especially the toon that only signed and did not do anything, he does not have anything except a name, and they must have well understood that he is a possible backup officer who can sell gold even if the farming account was closed.

I think they made the connection with my bank account, due to the big number of mails,I see it as the only option..When I post on Ah,I use 4 dif characters on the same bank account..I have a friend that bots without any stress, same profile, many hours, sells golds from same character,face2face trade and he isn't banned,so I am wondering what the hell is happening.

Got many bot accounts shutdown including the bank one,and I think they have made a connection trough the mails that this bank account has been receiving..Reason why I think of this is because I appealed on every one of the accounts..2 of them got a 72hours suspenssion, the bank account was removed the ban instantly, and the others still banned.. I have received different replies on every of the accounts but one that got my attention was this:

After a thorough investigation, we have found that the WoW1 license associated with this account is associated with multiple World of Warcraft licenses that were closed for participating in exploitative activities. As a result, this World of Warcraft license has been closed based on a review of the license and all related policy violations. This action has been taken in accordance with the Terms of Use (Blizzard Entertainment:World of Warcraft Terms of Use) and our In-Game Policies (https://battle.net/support/article/100644). Any recurring subscriptions on this license have been suspended to prevent further monetary charges.

So i think they made the connection with my bank account, due to the big number of mails,I see it as the only option..When I post on Ah,I use 4 dif characters on the same bank account..I have a friend that bots without any stress, same profile, many hours, sells golds from same character,face2face trade and he isn't banned,so I am wondering what the hell is happening..I use separate accounts to sell the mats, separate account to sell gold, and I get all my bots banned and the bank accounts..If you guys have better experience on how you sell your ores/items and how to sell the gold without risking your bot character to get banned, please share.

its best to wait for questing botting im not quest botting until the behaviors gets fixed i just raid bot atm i dont wanna lose my 3 others by questing

Finally my ban was reduced to a 72 hour wait after I submitted a ticket. I can bot again on Saturday evening. I am not sure how safe it will be to bot again, but it is fun to bot.

i was afk on the darkmoon faire merry go round and came back to a perma bann Reason for Closure: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy I didnt even sell gold on this account. All i did was buy 10k gold from a non chinese seller like 3 weeks ago.. LOL i submitted a ticket better get this resolved or im pissed. their going ban happy for no reason.

Yesterday I noticed HB Updated, and when I ran QuestBuddy on kicks jade forest questing profile the CTM was going crazy everywhere so I got scared and turned it off immediately. I guess its broken and detected. I used Tyrael all night and this morning tho no problems
