Seriously though, I remember the Glider banwave ... literally within minutes around 60,000 accounts were banned and the forums and irc channels simply imploded with people complaining. That my friends ... is a "banwave".

While there has been a lot of discussion on these forums about Blizzard getting smarter at detecting and/or dealing with player reports (instant interrupts and LCP). The majority of the ban reports I've been reading go along the lines of:

• "I was on Gatherbuddy for 46 hours completely AFK and now i'm banned wtf?"
• "I just got banned Questing, I've never done anything else, except for 24/7 BGBuddy while I'm AFK"
• "I was AFK and my char was stuck jumping at a wall for 6 hours"

This is not symptomatic of a banwave, it is symptomatic of being a little stooooopid.

Auto-casts and related stuff IS "automated movement".

And it is very well possible that some overzealous player, during a raid, saw that you were acting "strange" and reported you.

Example? Some CCs do act strange in certain situations, like casting fear, while the mob is almost dead.
That may happen manually, at times, but when it's consistent, then people will start to notice - got it?

Of course that is just one example, but I can make an endless list of "awkward" behaviour that some CCs display.


Reports are the major cause of getting banned - Blizzard isn't actively "looking at you" without profound reason.
And let me tell you, the people reporting you, are very likely botters themselves, since they easily recognise bots.

I dont think people tell their whole story if they claim to have gotten banned "simply using tyrael/lazyraider in raids".

Maybe forgetting you used it to push arena-rating, used the farmbot or got a previous ban that got you flagged and now you got banned due to player reports?

Been running BGBuddy 24/7 for the past week with the intent of getting permabanned so I can finally lay this game to rest after botting safely for 3 years now. Yall's luck must be pretty terrible.
