normally my Honorbuddy works

I start wow, log in to my char

open in Honorbuddy logging in and it says

You have not selected a valid instance of WoW to attach to!
Please restart Honorbuddy and choose a valid WoW instance to use Honorbuddy.

why

What is your WoW client version ?
Are you using the last version of HB ?
Is your WoW client fully downloaded ?

I'm having the same problem, wow is fully updated, and I'm using the latest client of HB, what to do ?

I get the same problem, usually running WoW in max window, or just restarting WoW & HB does the job...

There was a patch for about 30meg about 30mins ago, might have broke HB,

right click on Hb exe and then run as admin
