Common sense, ive got a new appreciation for the phrase. This goes for devs and customers alike. The "alpha" excuse is comical and misguided/ing.

I dont mean to sound patronizing but c'mon, its not in alpha - not even CLOSE. As developers you should know this. I mean perhaps your basing your reply on the potential ignorance of the recipient of such, or your using it as a tongue in cheek/catch all?

Again, I get that you have 100 things pulling you in 101 directions and the easy and efficient way to do things is to put off windows 10 support since you can use the "its not out" excuse. Nobody is bitter due to that. Do i want to run 10 now? You bet! I wont though because i know it has issues attaching and this is more important to me.

That being said, men, women, and children... Windows 10 isnt an alpha. Theyre about to release the consumer preview. Its a fully viable operating system currently and its going to be hitting the market during the middle of 2015. Loooooooong past alpha and definately not a developer build lol.

Very very far into beta at worst.

Semantics sure. Misinformation on the internet is one of my pet peeves and as ironic as it is, i spend a lot of my time in the wow community. Imagine my daily frustrations :P

In the end - my post has little point. Rantings of someone waiting for his updates to finish and determining whether or not to upgrade his backup pc to 10 or not.

I wont because of trouble attaching. While im sure the devs know of a solution, they'd rather ignore it.. and while some people have found a work around.. i saw it once a month or better ago and havent been able to find it since.

Rest assured for those of you who want to use windows 10, its very much a complete OS, its very stable, and theyre adding to it regularly with the intent of taking Technical Preview users and upgrading them all the way to release (if thats your thing).

To anyone else reading, if you know the work around of which i speak - or have found one of your own... do share :P

It's not a released product. Support will come when it's finalized and released. There's no point in wasting developer time on something that can still change a lot.

I see that you wrote a very long post about a topic you know nothing about. The terms alpha and beta for development do not have a specific definition, and some developers do not even use the terms. The most common usage of the terms refers to alpha as being a phase when the product is functional but you are still making design changes. The beta phase is generally regarded as bug and performance testing when very little design changes are implemented.

Under those conditions Windows 10 is still in alpha because they are still making design changes based on feedback: We’re rolling out our first new build to the Windows Insider Program

You are a very patronizing jackass for someone that doesn't know much about the subject. Why are you so interested in the Buddy staff supporting W10? Is it because it is a free prerelease product that anyone can install? Go buy a real operating system.

I have been using Honorbuddy with Win10 since it came out. I have yet to have one single problem with either.

The reasoning behind not releasing a stable Win10 ready bot at this time I can assume is to prevent doing the same work twice.

If they make the bot compatible with Win10 now and there is a major change to the OS they will most likely have to rewrite the entire code they just wrote.

When a program alpha/beta there is a very likely chance this will haappen.

apart from it not being alpha and i guess it could be considered beta. Their wont be any major change though, its well past that point. People are using it and its being updated to final OTA. Wouldnt be possible if the core wasnt already long in place.

Thats all besides the point though. As i said, they need an excuse and they have it. However thats exactly what it is, an excuse. They have better uses for their time which is totally understandable. This post wasnt about whether they will support it or not, they will. It wasnt about whether they will now or later either. it was simply about the misinformation and white half truths being passed about.

Similar to the invalid session errors people are getting. Theyve given different asnwers to everyone and instead of coming out and letting people know theyre being ddos'd they just let us continue beliving the problem was on our end. I wasted hours of my time trying to fix a problem that isnt on my end. Ugh.

anyways. thanks for the replies :P I forgot about htis one >.>

so yea, whats up on attaching? Care to fill me in? I'd like to swap over but during the last release it wouldnt attach. Are you using a work around or did the newest version fix the compatibility?

The answer is no, the buddy team aren't going to support it until it's on a release version or after that. Bugs can popup etc and they need to work on those and then they find out that's it the OS and then they need to wait for a fix... see where I'm going? wasted time etc. You can still try and run on Win10 but it's not going to be supported until after release.
