Hi,

when I start wow via the hb launcher, it starts wow multiple times and then the launcher causes an error and gets closed. That thappens on different computers on clean installs.

Anyhow... Is there a way to start wow "the old way"? I have Win7 64 bit.

I dind`t play for a while, but when I last played (3 month ago) it was possible to delete the wow64.exe and just start the wow exe. That doesn`t seem to work anymore, because If i do so, it will start up the blizz launcher.

How do I avoid that?

just set wow in 32bit and start it the normal old way

Did that. Started it via the launcher and set it to 32 bit mode in the settings. If I start the wow.exe it starts the World of Warcraft -Launcher, checks for updates and then starts up the Battle.net program.

For some reason it works on my laptop but not on my desktop.

ah i thought you are talking about Hb launcher

you can also rename the wow64.exe to something else i.e. -> wow6.exe or wow641.exe and then start the wow.exe (this is the 32bit client)
but after every update or when you start it with the launcher we will download/create the wow64.exe -> you have to rename it again.

its possible this way but iam not sure if its the best way or if it can be tracked or might be suspicious

@Tony

Yes, I also mean the HB launcher, becuase the HB launcher crashes all the time. I launch up the HB launcher, hit the launch button.... Wow and HB start twice! Then the HB launcher shows me an error message that sounds like "Honorbuddy Launcher does not work properly - The Progrum does not work properly because of a problem. The programm will be closes, you will be noticed if a solution is avalible"

If I then login to one of the two HB windows that were opened I get the message "We couldn`t find a free wow process to attach..." So I have to close them again and start hb.exe and everything works.

So I wounder if I can do it the old way.... Start up wow.exe without the HB or the Blizz launcher and then start up hb via the hb exe.

That must work somehow, because the Hb launcher also starts wow without the blizz launcher.

Right click at your WoW icon (shortcut), click on properties from the menu. You will see a shortcut tab and in it a "Target" window. Write this after Wow.exe"
-noautolaunch64bit

So it will look for example like this "C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Wow.exe" -noautolaunch64bit

I just close out the extra wow Window.

I figured everyone just did that

Well, I need to close that extra wow window, close both hb windows and then start hb again via the hb.exe. Thats not really the fastest way to login, especially if you have several accounts.

I would relly prefer to just start wow and hb and it works like it used to work. ;-)

Understandable but why do you have to close the HB window And Re Log it? Mine always works just x the second one

Got it. Deinstalled the Bnet Client and fully updatet wow. I don`t know why, but it works now
