How to set difficulty mode to start new game?

I've been running T10 Nephalem rifts. However, if the bot decides to time out or bails for any reason it invariably starts a new game in Hard mode, rather than T10 where I started it. I can't seem to find anywhere in the settings where I can set what mode to start a new game. Any help would be appreciated.
