I've transfered gold directly to my mule from 12 bots total in the last 3 months and it hasn't been banned either.
It's not completely safe though as some people do get banned.

I have a main and semi main and bot account.

main does GAH/RMAH
semi does GAH
bot does GAH

Bot trades w/ semi, then semi trades w/ main

normally I create a public game, wait for at least one person to join then my mule joins and we trade... even drop trade hiding in town.

It's a public game... I mean why would blizzard search public games for drop trading and mule transferring
