Hi!

I've decided to make my own Battered Hilt farm profile, since the ones available are far too outdated. The one that I'm using right now uses the "Questing bot". I'm wondering, if anyone could show me a guide/clip on how to make my own profile?

Best Regards.

you can go to the submitted profiles tab and read some of the nice guides presented there. once you have familiarized yourself with some of the nomenclature and profile structures, find a few existing profiles and do some detective work. see what is in there, figure out what does what and start to form your own profile. you will want to download a text editor such as Notepad++. its free and works fine with editing xml and lua-the wow addon programming language.

Wow I was in the exact same boat as you...yesterday!! :)

I was using Zikkes PoS trash farm on my hunter & wanted to extend the run a bit since his only does the first half. What I did was copypaste his, and starting by just changing the route around slightly. And then, after spending just about all day on it, I was in the middle of a test/clear and the hilt dropped lol.

Theres a really nice video guide in the guides forum - it's for a grinding profile but it'll get you started (I think you may need to use the Questbot for some of the conditionals in Zikkes profile). Anyways that's where I started. Between that and the wiki you should be good to go.

Good luck!

Thank you for the replies.

Yes I would say Battered Hilt still sells, for 10-15k on my realm. But ofc it's RNG and not a very reliable source to make money. But it does the job. The instance drops alot of gold, greys to vendor, tons of greens to disenchant and frostweave cloth that sells really good.

Since I'm boting on my main account, and just want to make some cash to buy some nice things I'd say Battered Hilt is the way to go. The chance of getting caught is minimal.

My reasons for Hilt farming were:

1) Hilt; for nerd pts (for some reason I'm in achievement mode right now)
2) Frostweave cloth & greens, for my 2nd tailor/ench that I'm leveling, gotta get over that Frostweave hump
3) The toon I was farming on still had Gilneas & Panda rep to grind, so I also finished that off w/tabards.

Take a basic profile => Read it => Do yours ;)
