It may greatly improve the performance.

you can't do that anymore

Yes you can, I saw that you've not got it down, but I do :)

Close out all D3 windows, download the file within the Guide section, and place it and overwrite the current file which will be in your documents/diablo 3 folder.

I delete the text within the current file and copy and paste the lower settings in.

or if you don't want to mess with your settings you could read below:-

I do not want to link 3rd party sites here (not sure if allowed or not ;) ) simply google "d3 rendering disabler"

nothing drops cpu and gpu useage lower than this program (my cpu and gpu are running under 1.5% with this for d3) it stops the rendering of everything except your mini-map which means minimal cpu and gpu use whilst bot is running happily

why do you want to look it like that?
to lower gpu and cpu useage, to increase fps which prevents stutters from DB and allows DB more bandwidth from CPU and memory too (is the usual reason)

and Some people want numerous amount of bots, and want the best bang for buck, or play another game will botting. I use both the rendered app and lowered settings.

I thought long ago this used to be a part of DB? I don't know about something 3rd party, sounds like there is risk involved.

Nesox mentioned it, but I don't believe it was allowed into DB as it was a major risk with the whole lawsuit thing (may be incorrect)

I swore I use it at one point, but was removed. This was ages ago when DB was first released.

This is what i use and works great. Open Documents->DiabloIII and edit the D3Prefs.txt file, if you mess it up for some reason just delete the file and D3 will create a new one.
