How to improve my cpu performance, at 90+% usage at the moment...

How can I improve my cpu usage? I'm currently running 4 bots now using YAR to resize them. The load is pretty heavy now with a little bit of stutterings in game.

My system:

i5-2500k (not overclocked)
GTX 680
8gb ram
256GB SSD (all clients on this hdd)

Does overclocking the CPU help? I'm intending to run a total of 6 bots on this system.
 
tweak ur d3prefs file.. (search for it or pm me, ill send u mine via pm) 6bots are np.. even 8 are doable if u update to 16gb ram
 
Resizing D3 windows is an odd thing. You should be running it at 800x600 windowed at all times. If you drag the window size any bit the game will redraw itself to the new window size and use more resources. Using macros or other programs to insta size the windows often doesn't force D3 to redraw to the new size, so you may have a 800x600 sized window but the game is still drawing at a much higher resolution causing the picture to look squashed and using the resources needed to run at that higher resolution (despite the smaller window size).

I've seen macros used and I assume other software does the same where people run in fullscreen windowed then force diablo down into a tiny window size. Well when you do this your computer is still putting in the resources needed to run the game at fullscreen windowed resolution rather than that little 30x30 window you've squashed diablo into. If you find your d3 windows squashed and not running at 800x600 just tap the side of the window (where you'd change its size) and the game should force redraw at the current window size resolution. Macro programs may have a force redraw option as well. The smallest Diablo will render from everything I've seen is 800x600. If you make the window smaller through other means it will still be using the same resources as this 800x600 sized window.


You can find D3Prefs in your MyDocuments folder. Personally I run these settings, the game looks like garbage but runs from 3%-7% cpu useage and hovers around 1GB of ram.

OK i'm testing your D3prefs you sent me, currently improved from 90% cpu usage to about 60-70% for 5bots. Ram is at 90+% though, would probably need to get more tomorrow.
 
run hardware class on 1, mipbias on 9.999999, and bitdepth to 16bit

buy more ram, im running 16gb ram with 5 bots on 40% ram, 60 degree cpu (ordered a cpu cooler, suggest you should too)

I would like to run 10 bots but I can't and I don't know if it's YAR or what's going wrong...

RAM Usage it's not the problem I think because I have 20 GB RAM but CPU usage it's at 90%... and it makes impossible to put more Diablos... :/

Lawl I have the same issue.

- Intel Core I7 930 2.80Ghz Box Socket 1366
- Sapphire Radeon HD 5970 2GB GDDR5
- Asus Rampage II Extreme Socket 1366
- Diablo clients installed on HDD 1 TB also I have OS Windows 7 installed on 2 SSD 32 GB on a RAID 0, so it's "64 GB SSD"

- Framerates on Diablo 3 on 40 FPS MAX and 40 FPS MIN 2 checkboxes checked

- D3Pref what is the best to run more bots?

It's only necessari to modify MipBias "9.999999" or it will help too if I modify this -->

DisableTrilinearFiltering "1"
MipBias "9.999999"
HardwareClass "1"

Will my 3dfx be damaged after doing this or it will cause any kind of problem or it's safe to do it?
 
doesn't running on 15fps hurt the overall performance of the bot?
 
dont think that it will be recognized by bnet ... its n grafik setting oO no server setting^^
