I am looking to farm small amounts of gold for my own use with honorbuddy. What is the current best method for doing this? It seems mining/herbing/fishing are all currently pretty worthless. Is dungeon farming good? Grinding random mobs?

There is no profit anymore in fishing, who are you kidding? This needs explanation.

mining/herbing/fishing are all great ways to farm small amounts of gold.
 
sadly, there is much less actual searching, than just coming to the forums looking for a handout.

i find it hard to believe someone would spend money on this bot without having some clue as what to use it for. Do people really just buy stuff with the plan to figure it out later? Someone heard in trade chat that botters are getting free stuff and thought it would be a good idea to get in on the action?

Did you have any clue about manipulating a servers economy before you decided to bot to make money? were you disappointed the bot didnt come with a how-to manual?
Really though, if you can't figure out how to make a profit without a bot, buying one won't provide you with a miracle.

You obviously missed the whole point of my post. I am asking what methods people are using to get gold, and maybe if the wish to volunteer some pointers. I am not asking for free profiles. I am not looking to mass sell items, and the quantities I would sell would never even come close to affecting the server's economy. I just want to bot some gold for weapon enchants and other silly things.

the first part of my post was aimed at 'how do i make gold' posts in general. the underlined part is how you actually make gold with HB.

I started on a completely new (high pop) server for this expansion and I've managed to make a little over 250k so far. I've also spent some money on my Garrison upgrades, bought 2 Tundra Mammoth mounts and some other stuff. I only bot casually (less than 12 hours per day on 2 accounts) for personal use, gold sellers and hardcore botters will obviously have better methods.

  • Crafted armor and weapons are still profitable if you set up your Garrison and cooldown items appropriately. It takes me about 3-4 days to get enough mats to make an ilvl 640 armor or weapon, which still sell for close to 8k each on my server.
  • Tailoring bags still makes me some money too. I farm all the cloth using profiles here then turn those into bags and profit. Frostweave is a good sweet spot for demand/profit at about 200g each. I also sell some Embersilk bags at 500g each but demand is lower than Frostweave. This will depend on your server.
  • Dungeon farming is decent but risky. You can expect anywhere from 500-750g/hour, so it's not that great unless you have multiple bots farming many hours per day. I mostly use dungeons to farm cloth or rep. However, while farming for Frostweave I did get my first Battered Hilt yesterday. But I haven't been able to sell it yet, hopefully I will be able to get 9-10k for it.
  • Questing new toons is also profitable. Using Kick's profiles from 80-100 should net anywhere from 15-20k and only takes a few days. Roll up a new DK, quest him to 100, transfer the gold and then start all over again.
  • Open world farming in some WoD zones is another good method. Check the Farming profiles section. Sumptuous Fur sells really well on my server, and most spots have a chance to drop epic items that can sell for 20k+. Even the blue drops sell for 1-2k on my server.
  • There's also a ton of pets, mounts, and transmog items that are usually in high demand too.

Make 10 WoD enabled accounts. IP spoof them so they are all over the place.

Level to 100, 2 tanks, 3 heals, 5 dps.

Gear them. Write profile to go farm HM trash.

Make 500k every 10 hours across 10 accounts = 5k per hour per account.

Server transfer them all or level new ones on other servers once a week to keep from flooding the AH too horribly and dropping market price.

I still make around 2k/day from selling fish. One fishing session would get you about a week worth of sales.
