I'll try to make this very easy to understand, since it isn't just smart people who use this bot. . If you have any questions please PM me and I will answer, I check my PM's alot. STEP ONE) Go to www.wowhead.com and search for the item you would like to add. When you go to it look in the URL. For example, we will use the popular SUPER AWESOME trade tool, Gnomish Army Knife(WIN). Here it is:http://www.wowhead.com/?item=(HERE IS THE ITEM ID!>>>40772<<<HERE IS THE ITEM ID!)#comments. Now we can either make this item protected across all profiles, or we can make it profile-specific.
1. To make it universal, do this: Open the Protected Items .xml in your main HB folder with Wordpad or Notepad. DO NOT USE Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, or any other text editor that lets you change text size, or font. Anyways, once you open it add this on a blank paragraph just above the bottom of the page that says <Protected Items> Here is my example, using Gnomish Army Knife(WIN);
40772
and nothing else, like this:

40772
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Gnomish Army Knife(WIN)
</ProtectedItems>
I classified it as a bandage, but it doesnt really matter where you put it as long as it is between the two </ProtectedItems>. That's it! Your done! It looks hard the first time but once you've done it two or three times you can do it in about thrity seconds!

2. To make it apply only to your current profile, go to your profile .xml and open it in Notepad or Wordpad, and hit Ctrl+F at the same time, unless you can see <ProtectedItems> in which case skip forward to the * Type in <protecteditems> then click next. You will have the top of your Protected Items area for your profile hilighted. Unhilight it, and * click on the furthest right arrow of the first category and hit enter to make a new paragraph. To avoid problems with some meshes, add the two spaces before it then put

after the two spaces. Inbetween them, put the item ID of the item you want to protect. For this example, I used Gnomish Army Knife(WIN). Here is what mine looked like after editing;
<ProtectedItems>

40772
<<<<<<< Gnomish Army Knife(WIN)

6497

6949

6950

3. How to change item qualities to sell or mail: Find, at the very top just under the line that says HB Profile(At least on mine), you will see <SellGrey> <SellWhite> <SellGreen> <SellBlue> <SellPurple> in an up and down line. Below it you will see <MailWhite> <MailGreen> <MailBlue> <MailPurple>. You will also notice that between the two <sellcolour>s and <mailcolour>s, there is either True or False. I think you know where this is going. If you want it to mail whites, change <MailWhite>False</MailWhite> to <MailWhite>True</MailWhite>. Same goes for selling. It's really good to take a copy of your .xml profile and modify it to exactly what you want. While you are botting, it's actually kind of fun to do.

Save, and your done! Remember, if you have any questions just ask me, I'd be simply overjoyed to answer them. I'm bored to hell up here in Canada. Can't play WoW because I'm botting, and like to help! (I also have a secret dream to become a top contributor or mod or even an admin of a big bot/hack forum like this one. Yes, I know this isn't technically a hack. Here are some basic FAQ's about this, for anyone who has a common question.

The FAQ's

Q: Why doesn't my entry look like the others? A: (Simple Answer: BECAUSE THIS WAY WORKS AND IT'S F***'N EASY!) It doesn't have to, as long as you have the item ID. With this system it is EXTREMELY simple to add an item to your Protected Items. But some people would screw it up adding the item with the other coding, their computer would blow up and Honorbuddy would be responsible.

Q: Why are you being so discriptive? Seriously, it's a pain in the ass to read through all of your crap. We aren't retarded! A: (Simple Answer: Some of us are retarded and need help.) Alot of people find themselves caught at a point, there is usually at least one in every guide, where the author isn't very clear about what they mean. This makes people get frustrated and are unable to figure out what the author is talking about when they refer to it as "it" throughout the rest of the guide. I know it looks like a lot of text, but some of it is funny, which really helps it go faster. It isn't really as long as it looks anyways. It's DEFINITELY worthwhile to read guides while your charachter is botting, or you are bored.

Q: Why do you like Gnomish Army Knives so much? A: (Simple Answer: Their bonus for engineers is AMAZING, especially if you are a class that can't heal. It also saves your bags from... THE CLUTTER MONSTER!!) This question is usually asked by people who haven't used a GAK (Gnomish Army Knife(WIN)) before and are unsure of what it does.The GAK is that three-inch-thick Swiss Army Knife you or your kids eye and beg for, to see all the wonderful tools inside. They are cheap and plentiful, and have a great bonus for Engineers. For plays with BS & ENG on the same charachter, this tool is pretty much NEEDED. It works as a: Gyromatic Micro-Adjuster, Arclight Spanner, Flint and Tinder(How the f***....), Blacksmith Hammer, Mining Pick, and a Skinning Knife. Engineers of a high enough proffession level can use it to....... REVIVE PEOPLE!!!! "What the hell.... Is that a warrior reviving his teammates?!"

Q: What's the other hidden motive behind your talky talky guide making? A: (There is no simple answer to this question.) Sometimes, I get VERY chatty. It pisses off most people. But I figure hey, why just chat and piss people off when you can channel your chattiness into a gigantic guide for a simple thing? I figure I can help people who don't know and happen to stumble across this. I also like helping people, and I like to be thorough.

I guess that's it for this chatty-ass guide. Hope you read my next guides!

Doesn't really need a sticky

1. Open Profile
2. Find the <ProtectedItems> section
3. Add
ITEMIDHERE

or

1. Open ProtectedItems.xml
2. Add
ITEMIDHERE

Goto wowhead.com and search for the item. When you have found the item, look in your address bar. ItemID is the numbers part at the end of the address. For example, light leather has a url of http://www.wowhead.com/?item=2318. So its ItemID is the 2318.

Stickying is necessary, there is no place that people learn this automatically. When a mod reads this, I'd like it if they deleted this post, tree's post, ski's post and my second post and then close the topic and stick it. This could help people bot ALOT. Thank you tree and ski, you are both generous people.
