Ahoi!

So I am just wondering how many WoW my pc can handle.

I have a Quadcore 2.4ghz , 4GB of ram and a graphiccrad from ati with 1024 MB

Right now I have 3 wow running and it already starts to slow down a bit - if any of you have some experience I would be glad if you could share your opinions.
(I have put all settings to low and use those macros that reduce graphic even more)

Does it help if I assaign every wow to a seperate core ?

My Goal is to run 5 WoWs - would will I most likely have to change in my setup?

Add +2 GB ram to your computer and you can easily run 5 clients. If your cpu is not core 2 quad than check the ram prices because it possible to worth to buy + 4gb ram.

Your os is optimizing everything so you don't need to change the basic processor affinity.

thx alot , I will upgrade my ram then :)

one last quick question : just checked in taskmanager and my cpu is going up to 70% with only 2 WoWs running , is this normal?

The current release of HB is a test release, which means it's not optimized for performance. You should see some improvement after the expansion is released and most bugs are fixed. I was able to run 4 gatherer bots on a similar machine before 6.0.

you are running 64b operating system? otherwise extra ram will not help.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64b will only support 16g of ram, so if you go big, thats your limit.

win7 likes to use all the resources that are available. so you might see a lot of activity but its just win7 working your hardware like its designed to do.
Same thing with the ram. win7 will utilize all the ram available.

and if you have a couple extra bucks laying around, buy an SSD for those super sweet load times.

had to overclock my quadcore to be able to run the 5 bots with a dungeonbuddy party, it's abit more cpu intensive then just 5 clients farming.

yeah I have a 64 bit windows 7 operating system i think I ll go for the 8 gig if thats enough for a 5 man dungeonparty, thx for the infos . the ssd will have to wait or christmas since I am into alcohol and easy girls :/

overclocking , good point thx, i might do that aswell.

Saying you have a quad-core cpu tells us nothing. What's your actual cpu?
If it's AMD, 2-3 is probably your limit.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q 6600

the only payment they accept in my region , since its a stable currency

Your cpu isn't gonna run 5 bots I think 2-3 is pushing it.

I have a quad core q6600 aswell and it's working perfectly 5 bots on my second pc. I had to overclock it to 3.4 Ghz though.

I heard people that made 3.8 to 4.0 Ghz with it haha - I decided not to push it since it's a full time bot pc.

I ll get some ram tomorrow and then test it with overclocked cpu - lets hope for the best :D

may I ask you how much ram u got?

gonna try with 6gb ram aswell then thx for the help @all , I will post tomorrow how things did work out :)

Whats wit the obsession with running xxx amount of WoWs recently on these forums? I mean I know more bots = more gold but also = more risk and more know how required. Seems like everyone and their grandmother wants to run 20 wow bots as of late though.

I simply want to run a 5 dungeon team , since my server is fed up with heavy junkboxes and gathering isnt worth anything on the server I play on + queuing up with 3 toons for rnd hc is kinda risky if u have 2 real players in ur grp
