Well I had this problem in the beginning aswell.
I realized some things:
1. It's softcore (meaning no items are actually lost... they stay in the game unlike HC - if a hero dies on HC then items are lost aswell) So there is a massive supply of mediocore items.
2. Hard to sell at even prices with a massive supply... Which is why I always undercut by alot... Not too much, but If the cheapest items of one kind is 1,8 mill on AH I would list mine at 1,4 mill. It makes people think that it's a really good deal - and this psychological part is the most important part. You have to make them believe that they are making a good deal.
In all honesty I find alot of these items, that are worth something in that ballpark (1 - 5 mill). So I have too many to list. This way I can nearly sell all my stuff.
Just undercut by a fairly large margain, unless it's some top tier items.
That's how I do it, and it works great for me.
Also... You should have some knowledge about other classes and what not, so you know what is valueable and what is not.
For instance, if I have a pair of bracers that have the following stats:
160 dex
50 vita
60 All Ress
38 poison ress
4,5 % CC
Then, when searching for other similar items, I would delete poison ress (eventhough it is useful for monks) - but Demon Hunters don't have as much use for it as monks, and there for I price my item competitively compared to DH items aswell...
Selling gear that both monks and DH's can use at competitive prices makes it alot easier to sell items, because you are also expanding your 'customer base', since your are pricing this item competitively for DH's and even more so for monks.
Also, if an items does not sell then i usually just re-list it with a 20 - 30 % cut in the price. Eventually it will sell.... and most of the time, if it didn't sell at first listing it will sell 90 % of the time at 2nd listing.
- That's my experience anyways.
I hope this makes some sort of sense.
Good luck!
