So recent new rules (In the US anyway) are that a certain number of transaction on PP (I think 200?) means you have to provide your tax information. How are you guys avoiding this? Multiple PP accounts? Can you tie all of them to the same bank account? ect.

Obviously with hundreds of $1-5 transaction on PP from Blizz, it wouldn't take very long for me to hit that cap. They're already asking for my tax information, and it says they're imposing limits on my account until they do (Although I don't seem to have any limit?)

pay tax. Problem solved

I don't make enough to pay taxes on it. Like I said, $1-5 transaction add up fast on the transaction amount, but not the actual profit amount.

Besides I shouldn't have to pay taxes on a hobby craft.

But mostly I just don't want paypal to have even more information that they don't need.

No offence, but it sound like you are trying to work around the US tax system. By asking about Multiple PP accounts

I dont know US law, but in most countries you have to pay tax of any thing you gain $$$ from. And 100-200 of 1-5 usd is at least 200 usd. And I do not think you make that little in a year.

You feel like you shouldn't pay taxes on a hobby that makes you a steady flow of cash? I think the IRS begs to differ

Tell me what is your expenses besides electricity?

The US has a law regarding income from hobbies. Besides, no one in this forum has any right to try to be morally judgemental. You are after all using a program which is deigned against the ToS and also illegal in the US.

I'm not asking for your opinions on the matter, I'm asking what people are doing about it.

I thought it was 200 transactions AND $20,000.00? Both have to be met.

No, I think its 200 transactions OR 20,000. Which is why it pisses me off. I make no where near 20,000 or even 3,000 in 200 transactions.

What is your other job/income? You won't pay taxes on just ur d3 sales if they are small like you claim. If you do, it will all get returned when you file. You have to meet poverty line first.

Unemployed full time student.

Which is why I do this in the first place, to pay my car bill/insurance/expenses. And it just barely covers that.

Read the FAQ, says both must be met. Anyways you'll know if they send you the 1099-K form.

" Will all sellers receive a Form 1099-K?

No. Only sellers who exceed the IRS thresholds will receive Form 1099-K. Sellers exceed the IRS thresholds when they receive over $20,000 USD in gross payment volume for the sale of goods or services AND receive over 200 separate payments for goods or services in the same calendar year."

Full time student won't break poverty line with d3 unless your running on a large scale, so won't matter. If you even filed taxes on it, you would get full refund. Your technically supposed to file if you make more than 400 or 600$ or something, just so they can track you, but would be returned when you file for tax return. They also aren't gonna audit you for 15k or some crap. I mean do it if you wanna be by the book and safe in case of a rare event.

Illegal? It's not illegal. It violates a companies private TOS, and is at their discretion to punish with a maximum penalty of a ban from their game. Demonbuddy marketing and selling of their product etc, is a matter for the courts and has been, but using the program is in no way illegal.

I reported it (I'm a student also) and it didn't affect my taxes at all. Keep in mind if you make less than like $25k a year total then you pretty much pay $0 in taxes (USA). If you live in socialist countries with "free" health care then you probably have to pay more but I don't know exactly, I only care about USA.

LOL at saying using Demonbuddy is ILLEGAL. Please just log off this site right now. Just because it breaks a TOS or EULA, does NOT make it illegal. You are not breaking ANY US law by using DemonBuddy.

I'm not saying its illegal because it breaks the ToS.

I'm saying its illegal because the programs themselves are being taken to court.

Guilty by association.

Glider lost in Court in the US. That means the US believes such a program is against the law. Just because you didn't program it doesn't mean its not illegal for you to use it.

it is illegal; just read a story of a kid who violated ToS (of a fairly big scale) and ended up getting taken to court but killed himself before they could prosecute

Blizzard just bans accounts and doesnt take it any further because it is not worth their time

Some people here need to brush up on their law skills. Glider was ruled to have violated the law, which makes it illegal. Therefore if Glider was still operational and you were using it, you would be breaking the law. As far as I know, DB is temporarily against the law in Germany (which is why it is not being offered there). It is perfectly legal to be using DB in the United States. Just because Glider lost its case does NOT mean DB is the same thing.

@ryan, that is really a terrible example because there was no outcome. Just because he was taken to court does not mean he was in fact breaking the law.

I suggest people catch up on some law facts before they type things and make themselves look incredibly dense.

And people like you really bother me. that's like saying none of us can have an opinion on anything because we break the speed limit. there are different severities of breaking the law.

Using a bot that is not even illegal but breaks TOS is not the same as circumventing paypal and withholding income from the IRS
