How do you edit profiles?

I need to change some of my profiles, like how some say max level is 86 to 91, but when I open it in Word or Notepad and then save it it gives a "!" and then doesn't work properly. How else are you supposed to edit it?
 
For a new Coder Notepad ++ will do the job I would not do it in just plan notepad it maybe the setting it is saving at :)
 
Yeah that did nothing and it's still ruined and I have to reinstall it everytime that happens.
 
Triple posting will get you zero help from those of us that have been here for quite some time. Perhaps you should read a guide or two...
 
LOL well apparently they can't be changed anyways. All I want to do is change max level from 86 to 90 and some things from true to false but it just errors when I do and if I change them back to what it was, it says it's ok again.
 
can you see the file extension or its hidden?
 
Aren't they all just XMLs? It doesn't even let me copy one of the files without making a "?" on the new one. These are just the basic kick's profiles. Specifically I just want to change the [GB2_AIO][Neutral]Uldum profile from level 86 to 90 or 91 whatever is required to use it at 90...and some of the options from true to false.
 
yes they are xml but maybe the extensions are hidden and you mess with the name of the file or something?
 
It says opens with unknown application - no I didn't change any names. I just don't know what to save it as when I edit without it becoming useless.
 
idk what the problem but you can upload the profiles here an i can change them for you
 
If you can see the extentions, change the .xml to a .txt

Try running Notepad as administrator and dragging the .xml file into it.
Another resolution maybe the file is corrupted or read-only, try editing the properties.

Worst case scenario, re-download the profile. Don't change the extensions, just right-click > open with > Notepad.

Make a back-up copy of any files before you edit them and move them from a SVN folder, if it is in one.
 
It isn't checked as read-only or hidden. Admin notepad with dragging, changing just level from 86 to 91, and saving broke it. Redownloading won't help as it's always done this. I'm just not allowed to change it. Tried to upload it here, probably didn't work.

Oh ok it worked well all I want is the level changed so a 90 can use it, and change it so it does not vendor white items (true to false)
 
The red ! And the ? Has nothing to with the "not working" issue.

It only means that your version is different from the svn version.
 
That's what I thought buzzer, but when I did it, the bot freaked out and just flew across the map, got lost, and did nothing.
 
try this one, there was some weird commenting that was added to the profile that wasnt valid xml, that could of been causing the problem.
