How can you possibly call it an "avoidance system" when it avoids nothing?

1. Demon hunters do not face tank, in fact they excel at staying away from things that would kill them.

2. NOBODY HAS EVER sat in the fire, or the plagued, molten, lightning, ice, or whatever may be on the ground that kills you.

3. I know the bot isn't perfect, but it can barely and I do mean BARELY run rifts now. If I can personally do a rift in 5 minutes, why does the bot take 30? COULD IT BE that its intentionally DYING!?

4. And this is the most important, It won't move out of the simplest things no matter what. The visualizer isn't even picking up on these things, it just 'facetanks' no matter what is going on. I remember the last issue was it wasn't even attacking, but that was fixed relatively quickly. This is a problem on a similar scale I think o.O


Here is the log file of what happened with the latest update.

I'm not trying to complain but I don't think the bot can survive too much more 'updates' if it keeps getting worse like this. Some would say its at rock bottom but hey I'd like to stay optimistic.

+1, DH is acting like a melee character.
It's like trinity does nothing, it stays in melee vs. regular mobs and doesn't avoid a single AOE from GR boss...
And yes I turned on the avoidance settings
 
I'm glad to know other people at least recognize this issue, Im sure its not just for DH but I haven't actually tested that yet.

I have to say though the only thing that it DOES move away from is the ice balls and literally NOTHING else. Which is strange when you think about it, it used to be where iceballs were the only thing it didn't move out of.
So logic dictates they must have somehow fixed the ice ball issue whilst undermining the rest of the avoidance code? Don't know, I'm no programmer, It probably is something small enough to slip past the devs obviously.

Just in case anyone else reads my post and wonders: I tried so many different settings I pretty much ruled out the settings as being the issue. Keep in mind I didn't buy the bot and start complaining due to ignorance, I'd like to think I made well thought out points. In any case this is a major issue. The only reason I even posted about it is because I felt the devs needed to know. How can they fix the problem if nobody addresses it?


After my DH kills an elite pack with molten core bombs at the end it reminds me of the first god of war game. You know where Ares throws the tower across the world and K.O.'s Kratos...

It most certainly does COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY ignore everything a GR boss does, when I made my post I hadn't let the bot get that far.
Trust me I noticed it the first time it did though.
 
Having the same issue, specially with the exploding bombs from some of the mobs, changed my neck to the fire immune neck, just because of that..

Would love to see some love to the avoid system :)
 
I got the same problem - even made my own thread.
Can some1 please answer the thread? several threads made about this huge problem... no respons / fix ....
 
Same here. The DH face melee enemies and don't move from AOE. Tested with all the possible options/choices.
 
By far the biggest problem for me at the moment is DH running into the after-death explosion of some enemies to loot, and getting killed every time. I'm averaging about 30 deaths per hour with current version of trinity.
 
Not only that, my mage teleports to all the areas that could kill him. Its like "¿Where is the dead? ¿Here? ¡I go!
 
SVN Updated to latest build (2.41.42) and avoidance seems a lot better. It's still hit-or-miss with the arcane sentry and standing in pools, but at least it actively waits for mobs to explode before trying to loot now. With latest update and Anticipation skill I've gone from 30-40 deaths per hour to less than 5.

I would recommend SVN updating immediately.
 
first, the bot is not a human so it wont think the way we does,

second, it fools rules as steps which means it have an order to do stuff, like when u set it to avoid the ape after combat but the setting as go take the orb or gold the monster drops it will run against each other so that cause u see it running back force.

third, the bot is helping most on when u dont have time to play it, so there's a reason that has different gears for run rift on DB, if one not working ,just try others.

i run my crusader perfectly on rift 75 and i turns off avoid aoe after combat since it have steed charge, it will just run through before the bomb explode, and it still runs aways from the lightnings, ice, fires, maybe not the beem cause it probably not set as an aoe. and my witch doctor also can run 70 with not too good gear.

so, since DB if for a lot people, it will set a way that runs the rifts fast, what we need to is to find the way to make it work, i think the reason it wont get fixed is because it actually can run when u set it the up right way.:p
 
my monk walk with arcane sentry like a clock :D
if u have shifting skill like teleport, try set it as one can do multiple times or turn off avoid aoe after combact , cause it will want to pick up the orbs first so that is way it keep move into it. so once u port in and got the orb or item dropped it will just go away continuous the rift.

turn off the set "attack in aoe" and if still not work too much try turn on kite and set kite on deadly attack higher so it will kite instead of attack. those are for class as crusader ish which want to attack in aoe, or like witch doctor that have passive skill decrease the damage that wont care about it to save time.

there wasnt orbs at this moment
