Honorbuddy will not attach, or install w/ installer

Hey there folks!

I hate asking for favors like this but I haven't used HB in weeks because of this! I've tried almost everything to my own layman knowledge without completely wiping all files on my pc for a fresh start

I posted before about how the installer will not go through and says Setup Failed with a message saying 0x80070490 - Element not found

I was told to try downloading with the zip folder and everything goes smoothly until I login with HB and it says cannot find an instance of WoW to attach to.

And yes, I use the honorbuddy launcher.

I also have had issues updating from Blizzard, I am currently reinstalling WOW after wiping my machine clean. will see how this one goes



Update: "fixed with a fresh install" of Wow client

To Swag. from your post time I will say the HB is probably incompatible with the version of wow. True yes use the zip not the installer. so all may be well except the versions. wow patched which makes HB not work with it yet.

also have to make sure wow doesn't start up in 64bit once it does an update, depending on how you initiate your start.
IE: shortcut from desktop

dont use the installer.
Download the latest version of honorbuddy.

Then do a clean install into a new folder. Do not reinstall over a previous installation or move items from the old installation into the new one.

Codename, I have done so multiple times (delete everything and manually install) and that's why I mention the WoW still will not attach even after using the honorbuddy launcher.

I will do so again but i've been doing the same thing for weeks.

So again i'll update that it is now sitting in a clean folder on my desktop with no other honorbuddy files even on the PC. It will not attach to any instance of WoW even after using the launcher. I am willing to TeamView with someone so they can take a look but i've been doing the fresh installs for over 3 weeks and now i've came to the forum!

well there was an update, so when the new version of honorbuddy comes out. do a clean install from the zip. if you have problems then report back.
