Honorbuddy dismounting early

Hello :)

I've got a bug on my hands, honorbuddy handles dismounting of characters but consistently dismounts early every pull.
This makes for a very bottish looking behaviour.

As the dismount happens early and every time i'm considering it a bug and would like a ticket opened about the issue.

My proposed solution for this issue is letting combat routines handle when to dismount.

See log entry: [10:10:25.749 D] and [10:10:44.519 D] for examples of bot dismounting and forcing CC to move before initiating combat. (You'll find hundreds of examples in that log alone tho.)
The dismount is so far that bot has to move even before being able to charge or heroic leap for example.

its not a bug.

[10:09:14.991 D] GroundMountFarmingMode: False

since thats what your doing enabling it should help.

No, its not what im doing and its not the intended behaviour for "groundmountfarmingmode" either.

Its for avoiding low level mobs when farming nodes.

I enabled it just to try it anyhow and like i suspected now it just ignores viable mobs and visits hotspot instead.

For good measure here's a log with "groundmountfarmingmode" enabled.
Since you dont get log output of nearby mobs you're just gonna have to trust me that the first 3 hotspots was filled with mob and as seen by log entry: [06:04:02.453 N]
Singular takes the decision to defend itself. Its not getting a POI from botbase or Pull instruction by singular.

And since im annoyed with you always coming in to all of my support threads spouting nonsense you're just gonna have to eat this:

Here is chinajade explaining the setting, you wanted me to apply.

Here is Bobby saying its a known issue for years.

Here is my post and log over the issue that I've experienced with your suggested setting enabled.

What is my ticket id ? :)

Hi, Tomten2, and thanks for the log.

The 'dismount' decision is under control of the CombatRoutine. Not to be confused with TargetingDistance, more info here:

Basically, Honorbuddy does indeed force a dismount at 'PullDistance'. But, the Combat Routine defines what 'PullDistance' is for the particular class and spec (e.g., PullDistance for Feral Druids will be much different than for Balance Druids).

You should report the problem of this misbehavior to the appropriate combat routine author(s).

cheers,
chinajade

That directly contradicts bobbys post: https://www.thebuddyforum.com/honorb...ml#post1892110 (I have also reported this issue in the past, but its gotten archived and couldn't dig it or bobbys earlier response out.)
He claims honorbuddy is to blame, you say singular is to blame.

Just to make it clear, i experience this across all botbases and profiles. Private and store bought alike. (If thats why you linked the segment about targetingdistance)
I feel stuck in the middle here... :(

Hi again, Tomten2,

We've forwarded the appropriate information to Bobby53, and written up an internal ticket—HB-2081("Melee toons dismount too early at the pull")—for discussion purposes. The design I've described is how Honorbuddy has always worked. We don't know if there is a communication problem, or its time to revisit some design decisions.

This is not a ticket we will publicly track on the Known Issues list, as we're always bumping up against the forum limit of 30k character count on that post. To be honest, since Honorbuddy is working just fine as is, the senior staff will probably push it to a low priority.

The feature request is open. We'll just have to see where it leads.

cheers,
chinajade

Thanks a lot, its more than I expected tbh, kudos :)

also all we're trying to do is help you. so next time if you could cut the whole "eat this" crap that would definitely go a long way in us wanting to help you.

Maybe its me imagining things but you have a tendency to visit most, if not all of my support threads with a default attitude of "the problem is with you".

I think I held it to a quite courteous, restrained tone, I apologize if that was not the case.

if you've done my job for as long as you've done it. you'll know that's always the case, only until all the trouble shooting that can be done is done and all the settings have been changed, only then can it be a bug. as if i just took everything as a bug the developers would be overwhelmed and nothing would get done chasing down bugs and issues that could be fixed if a user had tried something, or done something different.

That wasn't really what i was getting at... but lets hug and see what the future holds! :p
