Ok, so I read a hell of a lot of great reviews for honorbuddy before buying it. When I first got it running yesterday I was shocked at how well it worked. I hadn't seen a bot navigate caves so well etc. But things changed pretty quickly.

After 2 days of use, this is what I'm getting so far:

- The questing that was boasted about hardly works.
- My priest who is mining and herbing has died multiple times due to being killed by level 11 mobs stabbing him for ages while he stands there.
- My priest ran to vendor, then HB spammed me with "moving to mailbox". Other account worked fine.
- All of the good profiles are old. To use them you have to use the old HB. None of the new addons support the old HB.
- If I try using the new HB with an old profile, targetting is broken.
- A lot of the addons no longer work. Many of them cause wow errors.
- The pathing is awesome but flawed. I've found myself dead due to fatigue.
- I tried e-train, it took me to the trainer and spammed "We stopped moving. That's not good."
- Auto-equip crashes wow.
- The "warden check, try again in 15 minutes" is annoying as hell and I rushed today because I forgot I changed my computer clock to counter this.
- Chat manipulating is bugged for addons.
- PvP is absolutly terrible and isn't recommended by a lot of users.
- The community keep complaining about all addon devs no longer being around.

So, I see the huge potential with HB, and the idea of how automatic everything could be is awesome, but it's no good having some a clever bot if you end up standing at a trainer, or disconnected, or stuck at a mailbox.

I could well have joined at a dark time for HB. It seems that way. I don't know what problems the new patch has had, and I can't say I've ever used the bot in the past.

What I want to know is, if this is after 2 days experience, will it get better? Have I joined at a bad time? Don't get me wrong, the bot is great and definatly better than GPBot that I was using before but I'm a student and I'm not loaded. I'm not quite seeing where my 80 euros went.
 
You have joined at a bad time , this is for sure.

But look forward over the next 2 - 3 weeks and then again post an feedback.
 
You'll have to wait a while for the questing to get better but at higher levels, HB works very well for me.
 
I brought Hb and haven't tried the questing etc, i just use the latest UTD version and use the old profiles, rarely had any trouble with it, in my Botting peak i have 3 accounts running at the same time.Imo just get the latest non quest version and let it run a old trusted profile, esp if your leveling, get only the important addons such as ones which stop you from being afk, using HB like this i never had any serious problems, mail etc worked mainly.Did many 12 hr plus afk stints.

Although i haven't used HB in maybe a month because atm i am afk from wow. Tha last version i use was hb 1.9.2.3.
 
When I first joined things were active and stable and worked well for what they were, but they had severe limitations. Things like having to make your own meshes, use unintelligent pathing, no questing, less options in profiles, less CC options, etc. Those are all changing and being upgraded, but as always with new features comes new bugs.

Unfortunately, because WoW is always being updated, there just isn't enough time to keep every old version updated while adding new features and updating the new versions. Everyone wants version 1.3, or 1.8, or 1.9, or new features, less features, etc. As with any upgrade, there is a rocky time where things need to be fixed and ironed out, sometimes at the cost of stability. I'm sure there are many people that are angry about it, but its for the better of the bot as a whole in the long run to endure the dark times to eventually see a new light.

My 2c, anyway.
 
Okay well as I said before, I hadn't even heard of HB until long ago so I have no idea how it used to be, I just know 80 euros is a lot of money. I see the huge potantial in the bot and hope the devs can iron out the creases and get a nice solid, stable version released. It seems to me like HB2 was released way too early and another month of coding would have done it good before letting the public use it. Now some people are using HB1, some HB2, there's addons for both, plugins for both etc. It should have been a seamless switchover.

Anyway, I think I'll be keeping my subscription and I'll post again in a few weeks :]

I'm shocked. I saw the thread name, and thought it was going to be unintelligent bashing towards the devs; but someone with a little bit of decency, and patience. I like you. A LOT. <3 :P

questing is working for me, you just need to write a decent profile
 
I've been using it around a week too and I never used a bot before (the thought of getting Supply Crates, finding Stolen Silver or killing 50 quilboars again makes me want to scream) so I never knew what to expect. Like you, I jumped in with both feet and bought the lifetime 80 Euro package. I've been reasonably impressed but I have no idea how good or bad other bots are / were so my view is very subjective. There are some activities (PvP) that I'm definitely going to give a wide berth, and I'm not interested in farming for thousands and thousands of gold so I'm using it in moderation.

I leave the bot running and sometimes he gets stuck in objects, or stupidly runs in circles in the middle of mobs until death or can't decide what to do so I need to manually stop/start him but I've gone from level 1 to level 25 in under a week, made around 300 gold and only been 'hands on' for around 30 minutes - less time than it would take to leave the starting zone. Plus I have around 150 in herbalism and 100 in mining and I can't tell you how much I hate levelling gathering tradeskills - normally I just buy gold from some site and buy everything from AH that I need to get my tradeskills up so this is a massive plus.

I don't mind if it's not all singing, all dancing at the moment, as far as I can see the bot is fit for my purpose (boring levelling) and, most importantly, new versions are being released and the devs are active.
 
I have been using HB about a week fully now, after using GB only.

I do see issues with the Questing, but overall personally think the bot runs very smooth

Etrain works for me in Org but not really UC as with the profile I was using there was a Mailbox in city that he got caught up on after every train.

Autoequip has given me no issue

I am leveling a mage that is 34 so far, and using the Modified 1-60 Horde, he kills well and skins. And equips better greens as he loots them.

I was excited to use the questing but understand it is in beta, and anxiously await it getting worked out more as I think that would really increase the speed my mage could level.
 
An excellent post, all very valid points which i think a lot of us feel. Lets hope things improve over the weeks to come.
 
I'm not sure if someone mentioned it, but the priest CCs aren't working that well for anyone, roll a paladin to really see the power of HB. :)

I did roll a paladin. The priest is just a miner :)
 
a lot of pluings are broken now for both HBs 1 & 2, but both bots are good choice for leveling to 80. Wtih little effort you get your levels easy, but i dont recommended using untested or low tested profiles, because there are many bgs in HB2 now (zig zag moving, unstoping remounting, weird behaviour etc.). In last releases both HBs is a bug, bots taking more computer resources then before and its pretty annoying. My mashine is able handle about 25 gb bots, but only 6 gbs and 4 hbs now after patch. :/
