honor buddy not working

just downloaded honor buddy on a new machine. bought some keys. when i run the exe it displays the first gray window but then it does nothing. it doesn't try to log into anything, doesn't ask me to enter my keys, nothing. just sits there. is there something i'm not doing correctly? it looks like you guys usually ask for logs, so hopefully these help.
