So i just purchased a digital copy from Gamesrocket.com and was testing out their service. I was sent a eu key. set up my new acc and everything. When i went to play, it said region:The Americas. so i tested it out and sent one of my US farmers a friend request and he was able to get it.

For some reason i thought that EU keys could only be played on the EU. Or is my guy only going to be able to use the EU auction house or something, because i still see all of the prices in Us dollars. Some info on this subject would be great.

What are you talking about?

Afaik every key can be used on every realm. There are just some language restrictions. e.g. "russian" keys won't let you use an english client but you can still play those on all realms.

For some reason i thought only the EU keys could use the EU AH, and US keys US AH. apparently i was misinformed.

you can select the region yourself from options . you can play on any region.

You can play on any realm. But trying to sell in the rmah, can be a problem I believe. You would need a PayPal account registered in US. Can anyone confirm this, as I often think about playing US realm but have read before can cause problems selling

Yeah, its just wierd because when i made the gave the eu key, i went to play the game and my home region was US. i figured it would be Europe by default, but i guess not. It is not linked to paypal but would still allow me to use the RMAH on the correct, us side. wouldnt connect to europe side though when i switched regions to test it.
