Hey guys I just had an account recalled after 5 months of playing on it which really sucks. Made me think about another account I own where I am not the OO.

What can I do to secure the account and make sure I don't get screwed? I was thinking of transferring the characters off to a new account, just making an account with the same last name or something and doing that any tips?

This only happened to me recently because I didn't have an anti-virus running (Base Filtering Service or something got corrupted, had to reinstall the service).

Usually it's just taiwanese accounts and level 1s spamming gold adverts, they didn't delete any of my accounts or steal any gold.

Back in tbc i xfer'd all my chars are i got screwed over;

If you go through blizz to get them back you need the serial's of the expansions, etc - sometimes theyll let you get away with most recent expansion serial - but kinda of pointless now as most accounts are done thru battle.net

But they will ask for proof of ID - goverment issue to match the name on the account and address info etc

So unless you can prove any of that your best bet is to xfer the chars you want to a new account on a new battle.net that is 100% yours

Thats the only way you can be 100% secure

Even having an authenticator wont stop a recall if the other person can prove its their account etc - just as an additional reminder
