Hello guys, I need your help. I am wanting to build a computer to run 12-14 bots. But I also want to play some games and do other things.

What setting do you recommend me?

Remember 1 = 12-14 bots + Use computer for other things + playing Dota or any FPS out there.

Remember 2 = in the case of AMD and INTEL motherboards, let me know what I should leave Enable and Disable in BIOS. (To decrease the CPU Usage for bots.)

Thanks guys, waiting for help...

I got 1 tip for you. Dont buy a new computer to bot Diablo 3 on. Market is dead :)

Oh and BTW,

there is like 100 threads about this.. I know a lot about computers and can easly configure one for you but im just not going to because you didn't do any research -.-

Try searching, the pc market have not gone trough revolution the past 9 months.

No idea why on earth you would start botting with the current state of things. You will probably make more money walking your neighbors dog.

1. Don't invest in botting
2. 12+ Bots and "do other things" isn't possible. No there will be some kids telling you that they will easily run 20+ instances on their AMD shitmachines but believe me, they don't know what the fuck they are talking about.

This. Even If You Did Somehow OC Something To The MAX. It Won't Live Very Long. - And You Will Get A Shit Ton Of Lag

lol

Well it is possible to run 12 bots and do other stuff :)
i7 3930k should be able to do the job ^^

*should

you tried it? That's a 700$ cpu, you can almost get a whole rig for that money. This whole business is pretty much about cost-effectiveness, which the 3930k clearly can't provide. If we are in bunga-bunga land now I'd just buy me a nice XEON rig with multiple CPUs. 1500$ per cpu not a problem.

Well I can assure you that you can run 12 bots easily on the i7 3930k.
The thing is, you said it is not possible to run 12 bots on a machine. This is a wrong statement, it is possible :)
You are right about cost effectiveness, but that doesnt mean you cant run 12 bots +doing other ''stuff'' on one machine ;)

It's all about how much money you are willing to invest ^^

Reread what I wrote please.

To make it clear: he wants to run at least 12 instances. He'd prefer 14. Also not only wants to run 12-14 instances but wants to play some first person shooters parallel to the bots. Now you say that's possible with 3930k? I have never owned one so I can't really say what it can do and what it cannot. Do you own one? Could you provide some screenshots of your machine running 12+ (non-crippled) bots while you do something more demanding then minesweeper?

Now if you can't reply with some good facts you don't have to reply at all. We'd be trapped in assumptions. In that case I'd just recommend to skip the idea of running 12-14 instances on a not-cost-efficient cpu while playing FPS.

I do have some good facts.

I have seen the i7 3930k running games like Crysis 3 and Battlefield 3.
It does an amazing job on those games (low CPU usages).

Now I own a first generation i7 (i7 920) and it runs 7 diablo's+DB's +battlefield 3 on low settings very smooth. It kicks my CPU to 90-100% but I have hardly any lag.
Now the i7 3930k can run at a much higher clock (with a good cooler) than the i7 920 can. The i7 3930k also has 2 more cores than the i7 920 has.

By this I can assure you that an i7 3930k will run 12 bots and play some games on low settings( probally not battlefield or crysis).

I am not here to convince you, proof you wrong or fight you :)
It's just my experience ^^

Btw, I wonder what kind of cpu/ram the pc has in the image you posted on this thread.

PS. Sorry if I made any grammar mistakes, English isn't my main lanuage

I don't think youll get 12 AND a playable game.

To the guy above, you say you are running 7, not 12, its actually a huge difference in computing.

I know I run 7. But the i7 3930k has 2 cores more than my i7 920 has. With an overclock I am sure that you can run 5 more bots on those 2 cores :)

He wants 5 more bots and to play games, i wouldnt put stock in it.

Yeah he probally isnt able to play battlefield or crysis with 12 bots. But easy games or just browsing and stuff wont be a problem :)

Having a hard time trusting your knowledge in hardware when you can't even figure out CPU and RAM from the picture posted.

I know how much RAM it is and how many threads/cores it has.
But im wondering what kind of RAM it is and what kind of CPU :)

it's some intel xeon cpu. several of them in one computer. one will set you back at least four figures, they go up to like 3000$ per cpu and well, you need multiple of them. plus a super expensive mainboard. about every component you want to put into a computer like that will be really expensive.

when d3 was still viable of earning some money i thought about setting up a xeon rig. i did some calculations and surprise surprise - they are not cost efficient for botting. would've still been nice to own one but ohh well.. can't have everything.

Aaah okay. Would be beast to have it^^
But yeah, not really worth the money. Unless you have more than enough money ofc :)
